No ill feelings here. Tomonobu Itagaki and his ex-team have moved on -
he has a new team, Team Ninja has new projects - and he only has the
best wishes for Team Ninja and its new leader, Yosuke Hayashi. It's a
refreshing change to see the man behind the sunglasses be so positive
for a change and he even had enough compliments to go around. Good for
you, Itagaki-san. |

Even without Tomonobu Itagaki and a few other core members, the members
of Team Ninja are still known for their knack for emphasizing female
assets. Proof? Check out Rachel in the E3 trailer for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
Anyway, now that the Tecmo team is up for a Metroid project, it'd be
interesting to know what plans they have for its darling heroine Samus
Aran. Will we be seeing more of Samus? Or will they stick to what she's already got? |

After seeing how much of a good game Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is, we certainly can't wait to get another portable title from the accomplished team. So here's some good news: during Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword's launch in New York, Team Ninja member and producer Yosuke Hayashi said that the team is interested in making games for the DS and the Wii. More details in the full article. |

Team Ninja recently mentioned that it will try to silence the PlayStation 3 critics with the help of real-life Rachel video game title Ninja Gaiden Sigma. The Nintendo Wii, to be quite frank, also has a lot of critics (ranging from weak graphics to lack of hard-hitting games). When asked if Team Ninja is also willing to silence them Wii haters, producer and director Yosuke Hayashi gave a rather ninja-esque answer. Gaming site Pro-G was at the recent Ninja Gaiden Sigma event in London and met up with Hayashi. The exact question was if the title is going to make an outing on the Wii. Just imagining playing as Ryu Hayabusa, or Rachel for that matter, using the Wiimote sends shivers down our spine. However, Hayashi's answer was quite vague: We would make something for the Wii if we came up with something unique that would only work on the Wii. There are several groups within Team Ninja. The PS3 group, the Xbox 360 group, and there are Wii fans in Team Ninja. Pro-G mentioned that Hayashi told them something more but the site didn't divulge it. The only Ninja Gaiden action Wii fans can have for now are the ones coming from the Virtual Console. |

While Square Enix takes the gaming spotlight with its party, Tecmo doesn't fall behind as they revealed several big announcements during their Nite Out '07. The show started with the introductions, giving out drinks and all that, before Ninja Gaiden Sigma takes all the cake. A near-final version of the game was out and available for everyone to play before Yosuke Hayashi, the director of the game, came up the stage to announce that they finished development of NGS and that it will be out in Japan on June 14 while reaching U.S. shores come July 3. A couple of DS games were presented next, Kyotaro Nishimura Suspense and Monster Farm DS. The former gets an Autumn Japan release while a new trailer was released for the latter. After that comes the most awaited announcement from Tecmo: Project Rygar. The Project Rygar trailer reveals that the game, rooting back to NES and arcades, now resurrects itself onto the Wii with a new hero, some new enemies, and a lot of action. Producer Kikuchi stated that he wants to make a game people can easily get into with the Wiimote. The diskarmor will be controlled by the Wiimote, so expect a lot of swinging action. |
