Shigeru Miyamoto himself has said it - they'll be moving along with the progress of technology and he wants to see games with better graphics. Couple that with the rumor that a graphically-superior Nintendo DS is on its way, then perhaps Nintendo has been busying itself with preparing new hardware. For now, they're working on existing hardware, turning white controllers black, and enlisting balance boards in the fight against terrorism.

Nintendo's set the date for the release of Wii Fit Plus, the expansion of their 2008 phenomenon, Wii Fit. This new version of the exercise-game is coming out on October for North America. More details after the jump.

The games sure are kicking up. This week, we've got another video game adaptation of a popular action hero franchise that's launching along the movie. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii and DS) proved to be a phenomenal success on both the DS and the Wii, racking up five million sales worldwide a mere three months after its January release in 2008. Will the second time be a charm for Nintendo's iconic characters? We'll find out soon enough as the follow-up to the first Olympic Games, Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games, gets dated for October.

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are coming to the Nintendo consoles! Or at least their Grease characters Danny Zucko and Sandy Olsson are. 505 Games has announced that it is now the rightful owner of the publishing rights for a video game adaptation of the classic musical, "Grease".

The Super Monkey is not done conquering gaming platforms, after it launched itself into the N-Gage and iPhone market streams. A page at the US Patent & Trademark Office reveals that another Super Monkey Ball title is set to come to the Wii, named as "Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll".

Developed by Eli Sherer, the Wii homebrew app Balance Board Tools lets you use the Wii Balance Board to check your weight without having to boot up WiiFit all the time and going through the body test. Cool. It also lets you determine where your center of gravity is just by standing on the board.

Nintendo Italy has revealed their upcoming WIi game Punch Out!! will be featuring the Balance Board support. Seeing as how Punch Out!!! is an arcade boxing title originally from the NES and SNES, having this new peripheral should be interesting, to say the least. Details and screenshots after the jump.

Introducing, the NASCAR Kart Racing for the Wii. Yep, that's right, yet another licensed sports title comes to your Wii, thanks to Electronic Arts. It looks like it's gonna be very enjoyable for the kids, and those kids-at-heart who'd want to see NASCAR in a different, more colorful light.
