The XCM Multi-cable... uh, too long. The thingy that connects your console to a PC monitor. There. Simple. After mating mice to 360s and making plates for the PS3, Team Xtender brings out yet another product out of their bag: the XCM Multi-cable V2 PC Monitor Adapter, a.k.a. the FARMER-VGA BOX, but the first name makes more sense.

In case the product's name didn't clue you in: the XCM Multi-cable V2 PC Monitor Adapter will hook your PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii up to a PC monitor (or via the VGA card) "for the Maximum resolution," says the Team. Not only them, but if you want to hook up the last-gen consoles, then this Adapter's good for them, too.

The Adapter works for both PAL and NTSC systems, and besides having the necessary plugs to plug into the consoles, the Adapter will also take YPbPr input (it also comes with a set of YPbPr cables for that purpose, too).

The Adapter is plug-and-play, requires an external power source (don't worry, it'll take 110V to 220-240V), and it will automatically memorize your settings (they say adjustment, but we think they mean settings). Only one question is left when dealing with this device: at what price, Team Xtender?

Do be careful when you wave your Wiimote at an LCD monitor, though.

I see you...not!While we like the influx of interesting third-party gadgets that follows every new console launch, there are times that we have to sit back, take a deep breath, and go, "You gotta be kidding."

For those wondering what's caught our fancy, we're talking about 22Moo's Ultra-Light i-Vision video eye-wear, which is apparently compatible for the Xbox 360, Wii, iPod Video and Zune. And for those wondering what exactly this long-named device is, it's basically a pair of monitors attached to an eyeglass frame - the whole thing resembles something between a VR helmet, Nintendo's Virtua Boy, and La Forge's visors. Could this be a spin-off of another helmed horror?

The set comes in three different version:
  • i-Vision 230 - 35-inch display, 320 x 240 resolution, 72g, $250 USD.
  • i-Vision 922 - 48-inch display, 640 x 480 resolution, 84g, $350 USD.
  • Argo+PC VGA video glasses - compatible with a PC, Mac, PDA, and any device which carries AV or VGA output.
Yeah, we know - we just realized that the cheapest set is gonna hack off as much money as a Wii bundle, which brings us to our next thought: the fact this doohickey works with a Wii. We've already seen the broken TVs, shattered windows, and sudden killings that have been following the Wiimote's strap...now we're blindfolding them?

Hmm, we're thinking there are two ways to make the gadget work: Either master your force abilities while blinded as Luke did in Episode 4, or just get ocular implants - worked for La Forge.

Wii CablesNintendo of Japan has recently issued an apology to their Japanese customers for not having the Wii Component cable available on launch. The cables, which were originally scheduled for a December 2nd release, have been postponed until December 9th. These cables will allow you to pump your Wii up to 480p on your HDTV, giving a “clearer” picture than the default composite cables. However, from the "apology", it seems that these cables will be for VGA cables, and not the component cables after which the US market scrambled.

The US hasn’t seen any official cables on the store shelves yet, but all the available ones online have been sold, leaving many Wii owners in the US aggravated at the scarce availability. Hopefully the delaying of the release will allow Nintendo to pump out a few more component cables for the high-demanding Japanese market. Both the component (US) and VGA (JP) cables will be highly demanded, so if you have a chance to purchase one, I strongly recommend it if you need them.
