Takara has announced in the pages of Japanese magazine V-Jump that it is currently developing Naruto: Clash of Ninja EX 2. The game is being developed for Nintendo's Wii home video game console and is expected to hit Japan before this year ends.
The game will focus on the principal characters in Naruto Shippuden. As you can see in the scans below, Sasuke's sporting his Orochimaru-influenced duds in EX 2. No sign yet of the newly-introduced characters in the manga, although if that Sasuke-Deidara pic's a mission story and not just a random fight then this game may be pretty advanced in terms of the Naruto series' storyline. Anyway, check out the V-Jump scans below. We'll bring you more info on this game as details surface. |

With the success of Wii Play and Wii Sports - coupled with the Nintendo Wii's own brand of motion-sensing capabilities - it's not hard to see why other developers are starting to take notice, and releasing their own games that make clever use of the waggle-centric playstyle that Ninty's console offers. Hudson Soft is one of those developers, with their latest creation as unveiled by V-Jump, Deca Sporta. Looking at the scans, this is definitely a title worth looking out for. Not only does Deca Sporta offer a broader range of sports to choose from - if one could remember, Wii Sports only had Golf, Bowling, Boxing, Tennis and Baseball in its suite - but it also features sports that involves more body movement. For example, the Beach Volleyball game as featured in the second scan, as well as Basketball and Badminton. This gets the gamer not only physically involved, but physically active as well. And it doesn't hurt that the graphics look pretty neat, with its over-simplified super-deformed style we've come to know and love from other Wii sports titles. Not to mention the controls look fitting - yours truly can't wait to see how one performs archery with the Wiimote. Updates as we get them, and in the meantime enjoy the scans! |

Marvelous Interactive released yet again new images of the upcoming video game Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle on Japanese magazine V-Jump. Much like the earlier scans, the new ones are looking sweet and should make any Hitman Reborn! fan excited about the game.
Dream Hyper Battle is going to be a fighting game featuring the majority of the characters from the Shounen Jump manga which this game is based on. Judging by the images, it seems that this is not going to be a one-on-one battle because some of the characters will be used as support. It is not known, however, if you can switch between these characters or you can just call them for special moves. Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle is scheduled to be released in Japan this August for the PlayStation 2 platform. The Wii version will be available soon after that. Marvelous Interactive has yet to give official announcements if this title will be available in other markets except Japan. |

As with any RPG, talking is a staple of the genre. You cannot get past an RPG without having to talk to at least one person in the game, and while we certainly don't like it when dialogues are lengthy, we can at least appreciate the pretty art they put into each sequence to make the wait worthwhile. Here, we have some new screenshots for Square Enix's Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, courtesy of JeuxFrance, V-Jump, and Famitsu. They include shots of the characters talking... talking to strangers, talking to enemies, talking to friends, talking to one another.... basically, a whole lot of dialogue. If you want additional action though, you're going to want to check out the Japanese mag scans. From the looks of the pictures, it seems as if your teammates will be able to imbue your sword with elemental power, giving your attacks that extra oomph in battle. In any case, we've kept them in relative order so the Japanophiles can translate the text. If you happen to know some of the new details hidden in the magazine scans, let us know. More mighty mag scans and screens after the jump! |

More fighting-in-underpants and hair-on-fire action in these new scans of Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle from V-Jump - and from the way things are looking, this game's shaping up to match even the fighting game full of multicolored ninjas in terms of graphics AND gameplay. We give you the latest on this title about mafiosos and assassins. The graphics are looking sweet in its current cel-shaded state, making the game's visual style as faithful to the series itself - except being in 3D, of course. The characters look solid and authentic, and the environment's not looking too shabby either. There's also the requisite amount of hand-drawn portraits, probably for the cutscenes, and ties the entire package up as a title worthy of the name AND the license. More updates about Marvelous Interactive's Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle as we get them. In the meantime, enjoy the scans! |

Back in December of last year, we told you about the upcoming video game title Hitman Reborn! (or just Reborn! in the US) for Wii and PlayStation 2. For those of you who are not familiar with this, it originally began as a manga on Shounen Jump much like other games such as One Piece: Unlimited Adventure.Anyway, after five long months of silence, Marvelous Interactive released new images of Hitman Reborn! on Japanese magazine V-Jump aside from a few new bits of information. Apparently, the game will be called Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle and it's going to be about "Battle Mafia Action." Several characters from the manga will be featured as well. However, it is still not clear how many of these characters will be included and how they're going to be controlled. Hitman Reborn! will be released on the PS2 in Japan this coming August while the Wii version is going to be available a little later after that. There is still no word if Marvelous Interactive has plans to bring the game outside of Japan. |

We've got yet another set of scans for One Piece: Ultimate Adventure. "V-Jump" magazine is at it again, and they never fail to tease us with more Japanese love. While the game is set to be released in the Land of the Rising Sun come April, all we ever get are scans and what not. These two pages show us yet more screens of the other characters that'll show up: Portgas D. Ace, Franky, and Shanks. We're not yet sure if they're playable though (translation, anyone?). But nevertheless, they're here to stay and help piece together what we can probably expect in the full game - if it'll be released in Western shores, that is. |

You gotta give it to Square Enix. They have practically established themselves as one of the best game-makers of our generation, and they are so revered, that the moment they announce a game, the population rejoices and the world suddenly becomes a better place once again. And so it was when DQ fans got wind of the upcoming Wii title, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors. The cha-cha was danced, some broke into song, and most started practicing their shield blocks and sword parries. ... Well, the game DOES require you to use the Wiimote as a sword and a shield afterall. Also, who are we to argue when the Dragon Quest creator himself has made it this way? So when Yuuji Horii tells you to block with the nunchuck attachment, you do as you're told, dammit. See those cute green Slimes in these new V-Jump scans? If Horii says you have to cut through them with your Wiimote, then you do just that. The Square Enix charm remains strong. Never mind that the game is the 24678th installment to a series, or if it's about a chocobo who can read, or a slime ball who has to save his village of other slime balls. It's already a given that we'd fall for it each and every time because Squeenix works with things that we've fallen in love with long ago, things that are already close to our hearts, but given a different twist. Now that's some strong magic right there. More images of Horii's hit-list after the Jump! |
