On Shelves This Week - Image 1This is a much, much better line-up for our On Shelves section this week. As in MUCH. One, the Transformers are finally rolling out (unfortch, Megan Fox won't be included in your game purchase). Two, Fight Night Round 4 is also stepping into the ring to knock you out with. Three, The Conduit is also set to make waves on your Wii, and so is the Resident Evil Archives. And of course, the ever-present DS games for the kids. Yes, it doesn't just stop at three. Go ahead, check out what else is there this week.

Ubisoft - Image 1The next generation of videogame consoles may still be a long way off, but according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, they're already getting ready to develop games for them. Even motion controls, although they'll be sticking to the traditional controller setup for most of their core licenses. More after the jump.

No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle - Image 1Anime otaku and pro wrestling-obsessed assassin Travis Touchdown will be, um, touching down in North America next year thanks to Ubisoft getting dibs on a North American release for Grasshopper Manufacture's No More Heroes : Desperate Struggle.

Prince of Persia - Image 1It's not everyday that we get fresh film footage for the up and coming film adaptation of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia video game, that's why we're leaning more towards welcoming this video interview with Jerry Bruckheimer, that also brings some sneak peek of the movie in development.

Red Steel 2 - Image 1Red Steel 2 looks good so far. Admittedly, that assessment's based only on the little bits of it we've seen, but on paper, the game definitely seems like a step up from the original. Despite the generally good hype surrounding it, though, the mandatory inclusion of MotionPlus is making the developers a bit nervous. Creative director Jason Vandenberghe even admits that it's a rather risky move.

Beyond Good and Evil - Image 1We seemed to have missed this over the weekend, but just in case you're not one of the tens of thousands of people who've already viewed this on YouTube, here's one that's definitely for the books. It shows some leaked footage from Ubisoft showing what could possibly be an E3 2009 trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2. It's got a lot of action reminiscent of the first game - only now on some high-octane 'roids and ditching the whole stealth aspect, while doing some Mirror's Edge-like free running across a town littered with cops.
