Assassin's Creed movie - Image 1It won't be the first time if we found out that more Ubisoft's IPs are gonna hit the big screen. For instance, Far Cry and Prince of Persia have already gone Hollywood. This time, the publisher is eyeing two more franchises to hand over for movie directors to play with - Assassin's Creed, and Splinter Cell.

Jordan Mechner, the creator of the series, has recently filed to trademark a new video game called Prince of Persia Prodigy. Could it be that this is the title of Ubisoft's new game? Dubious Videogame Awards - Image 1There are video game awards, and then there are video game awards. This particular video game awards feature is probably of the latter, but with a lot of good-natured irreverence thrown into the mix. While it would have been easier for us to just make an article about our favorite games (and we did), we felt that the gaming year of 2007 had a lot to offer, and thus we're giving credit (and blame) where it's due.

Ubisoft - Image 1Ubisoft has released its numbers for the first half of the fiscal year, and the figures mark a solid step up. Sales are up 52%, with a net income of EUR 31 million (US$ 46 million).

Ubisoft also believes that their holiday season will be productive as well, especially for Assassin's Creed (whose sales have already exceeded 1 million copies).
