Koei Tecmo - Image 1After the Ninja Gaiden dojo, Tecmo, and Dynasty Warrior factory, Koei, completed their merger last April, the newly-formed Koei Tecmo Holdings is now hard at work on a crossover title, combining IPs from both publishers to launch a new one. Time to review those Koei and Tecmo titles so we can all play guessing games as to which IPs will be making it to the new Koei Tecmo title.

Fatal Frame 4 - Image 1I'm among those who were pissed off that Nintendo decided not to release Fatal Frame 4 outside Japan. If you feel the same way I do, you might be interested in knowing that some hardcore Fatal Frame fans have taken it into their hands to bring the game to English-speaking gamers. The ones with homebrew-capable Wiis, that is.

QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1I'm personally baffled and not all too keen about Koei Tecmo's proposition of  incentivizing their staff to expand their families. Maybe they do need the population in their headquarters' town. But what I am sure of is that the news and updates here at QJ are expanding and on their own, beyond the shadows of E3.The (post) event updates have considerably slowed down, but in its place are new items and updates to buzz about, like a new custom firmware, executives' gripes about leakages in the industry, and pushing forth the race of this generation from mere hardware to motion control. It's all right here, so dig in.

Apu and hisbabies - Image 1The global population may be ballooning like mad, but Koei Tecmo seems to think that there aren't enough Dynasty Babies to form a strikeforce. If China has the One-Child policy to discourage procreation, Koei Tecmo does the exact opposite, providing monetary incentives for their employees to have more babies.

Nintendo Weekend Warrior - Image 1If you're reading this, I'm sure you would be expecting Nintendo news spanning across E3. But since we're doing a QuickPeek feature on E3, we're gonna stick with the news outside the Electronic Entertainment Expo for now. Besides, there's still some non-E3 info that you might wanna catch up on, especially this week's lineup of great homebrew, so you can get those on this week's recap.

Samus Aran - Image 1Even without Tomonobu Itagaki and a few other core members, the members of Team Ninja are still known for their knack for emphasizing female assets. Proof? Check out Rachel in the E3 trailer for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Anyway, now that the Tecmo team is up for a Metroid project, it'd be interesting to know what plans they have for its darling heroine Samus Aran. Will we be seeing more of Samus? Or will they stick to what she's already got?

Undead Knights - Image 1At last year's Tokyo Game Show, Tecmo revealed a pair of games for Sony's PS3-PSP tandem: Quantum Theory and Undead Knights. The former is an FPS for the PS3. The latter is a PSP title where players have to turn enemies into zombies.

Nice, yes? Well, Tecmo's bringing both games to E3. Even better: both games will be getting releases in North America. More after the jump.

Fatal Frame Wii - Image 1While the first three entries in Tecmo's Fatal Frame series eventually got released in North America and Europe, things aren't looking as peachy for the Wii-exclusive Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. If you've been looking forward to this game, blame Nintendo.

Tecmo Koei Merger Creates Koei Tecmo Holdings - Image 1 Tecmo and Koei have officially dipped their chips together Er, that is, they got busy. No, I mean they did the two become one thing. Uh, they merged. I'm no good with analogies.

They are now officially known as Koei Tecmo Holdings. Too bad. I wanted them to take up a new name, like Kokomo or something... Ok, guess I'm bad with names too.

Tecmo - Image 1Looks like not everyone is happy with the Tecmo-Koei merger. Tecmo's second largest shareholder, Effissimo Capital Management Pte, voiced out its displeasure with the said merger, saying that there was a lack of information as to how the new partnership will benefit the investors.
