Want the original Super Mario Kart? Then you got it. Nintendo's announced that the classic title will be heading to the Virtual Console of the Wii -- as soon as Monday comes.

Let me start by clarifying that this is in no way a Nintendo marketing attempt for the New Super Mario Bros. Wii coming out on November 15th (WTF if this is). This happened for real. Two guys dressed up as Mario and Luigi (presumably for Halloween), plus one other suspect, are now wanted by the police for assault and robbery on a poor cabbie.

20 years after Nintendo launched the Game Boy, the immensely popular portable gaming device has now been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of an elite list of legendary playthings. An honor well-deserved. Seeking to continue their hardware success, Nintendo has had another busy week, topped off with updates from three of their biggest execs.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has thrown down the gauntlet. In the newest GTTV episode, he predicted that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Modern Warfare 2 on a single platform. Oh, and he says there's no Wii HD.

The Dolphin Team has recently released a new update of the Unofficial SVN build of Dolphin, a Gamecube and Nintendo Wii emulator for Windows. The latest SVN build offers lot's of new features, bug fixes and various improvements.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself has said it - they'll be moving along with the progress of technology and he wants to see games with better graphics. Couple that with the rumor that a graphically-superior Nintendo DS is on its way, then perhaps Nintendo has been busying itself with preparing new hardware. For now, they're working on existing hardware, turning white controllers black, and enlisting balance boards in the fight against terrorism.

We all know how much of a classic that plumber all garbed in red already is in videogaming history. But despite the many iterations under the Super Mario franchise's belt, Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo still remains firm that the best is just yet to come. The New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the Mario that will sell for "many years".

They might not be doing so hot right now, but that doesn't mean we should forget the success they've had for the most part of the year.
