The Barney & Bailey Greatest Show on Earth - Image 1PETA's at it again, this time criticizing Take-Two and their upcoming circus-based Wii game as inspired by the Ringling Brothers and (the Greatest Show on Earth) Barnum & Bailey Circus. But the company is quick to defend, saying that they "fully stand behind all of our products."

QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1We've got an exceptionally news-filled week for issue #65 of the QuickJump QuickPeek, thanks in part (a whole lot) to the recently-concluded GDC that happened in San Francisco. There were a lot of announcements and revelations, both inspiring and jaw-dropping alike. Yep, it's looking like it's gonna be yet another good year for gaming.

Activision Barks Back at PETA on Call of Duty: World at War - Image 1 War is hell, for attack dogs and humans alike. Just because dogs happen to be cuddlier than humans doesn't mean that they were spared the horrors of war. Activision has responded back to PETA's complaint about killing hostile attack dogs in Call of Duty: World at War.

Details after the link.

Mama loves animals! - Image 1Despite making poor Cooking Mama look like a bloodthirsty butcher, PETA still loves Mama. Even so, Joel Bartlett of PETA is asking the cooking guru to, "Pledge to be veg for 30 days." Maybe they just want to play Cooking Mama (DS, Wii), but can't because of all those non-veg dishes. Bartlett even sends Mama a letter. Details in the full article.

Cooking Mama - Image 1After PETA's assault on Cooking Mama's "brutality" (with a bloody game to boot), a feisty Mama responds that her dishes cater to all sorts of tastes, and not just for vegetarians. "I create my recipes to a broad range of tastes and preferences," said Mama. More from Mama in the full article.

PETA's Cooking Mama - Image 1Why Mama?!? This is what's on the mind of many fans of Cooking Mama (DS and Wii) as they find that the adorable cookin'-loving Mama has become the unwitting recipient of animal rights group PETA's rage. Why? Cos she serves dishes with meat.

Samba de Amigo by Sega for Wii - Image 1Sega pulled out an ad for Samba de Amigo after international animal rights group PETA requested them to do so. Why? Because the use of the chimpanzee in the ad apparently came with a huge cost.

PETA2 is the teen PETA, fyi. - Image 1

We never knew about the teen branch of PETA, so we were surprised to hear about the existence of PETA2 and their sweet giveaway. Luckily, it says nothing about becoming a member of PETA (as far as we know).

The folks at PETA2 found a strange congruence between their daily activities and the demo version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In the demo, you actually get to free monkeys from cages. In the real world, PETA's commemorating the first anniversary of their undercover investigation into the Covance research labs, which brings this about.

All you have to do is fill up their form, make sure you're at least 13, and hope you win. Just make sure you check the terms and conditions before you join, or you could just be signing up to lose. In any case, we hope one of our faithful readers gets their fifteen minutes of fame courtesy of animals' best friends, mostly because they have the best banners we've ever seen on their site. Good luck!
