consoles - Image 1Wanna know who the top-billers are for NPD's October sales charts? You don't have to look further, cos we have it right here. On the software front, as expected, Nathan Drake and company spearheads the pack with their second round of adventure in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the Nintendo platforms continue to rule, but the PS3 also moved some impressive units, presumably because of Uncharted 2.

Dragon Quest IX - Image 1The powers and resources of the NPD, Enterbrain, and GfK Chart-Track have all come together and the results are in - Dragon Quest IX dominated the global sales charts spanning over three months ending September of this year. Dead Space: Extraction - Image 1Dead Space Extraction moved an underwhelming 9,000 units for the first week of its release, September 29 through October 3. This was revealed in NPD's software sales report. Jesse Divinich of EEDAR, however, says that Electronic Arts probably saw that one coming.

Call of Duty: World at War - Image 1This report from Gamasutra should erase any and all doubts lingering in your minds about just how successful Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii) truly is. The three DLC packs that the game released digitally for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles "only" managed to push 6.5 million units between the months of March and Mid-August 2009. How's that for a big performer?

PS3 - Image 1The NPD results are out for the month of September, and look at what we have here! A mighty and proud showing of PS3 sales finally taking over the spot beyond the Xbox 360 and the Wii -- for the first time ever. That's not to say that it topped all of the charts, though. A couple hundred thousands more till it successfully topples down the Nintendo DS from its # 1 spot.

Wii Play - Image 1Nintendo may not have the most technologically powerful home console in this generation, but they are definitely top dog when it comes to sales.
