wii64 - Image 1Great news to all Wii emulator fans! Homebrew coders tehpola, sepp256 and emu_kidid has release the first beta of Wii64, a port of the ever-popular multi-OS Nintendo 64 emulator, Mupen64, to the Nintendo Wii and Gamecube through the libOGC library.

Super Smash Brothers - Image 1This was expected to happen much, much earlier - but what the hey, it's coming! Super Smash Bros., the original game on the N64 that started the Smash franchise, is coming to the Wii Virtual Console next year for Japan. A release in other regions shouldn't be far behind.

The Wii Weekend WarriorOla, Wiibrewers! It's been a busy week on the Wiibrew front this week. Several of our favorite Wiibrew programs were updated this week, including the Homebrew Browser and WiiPhysics. Big news this week is the release of Whiite-Linux, which lets your console serve as a PowerPC-based Linux computer. There's a also a fun new Guitar Hero Wiibrew clone up for grabs! GoldenEye 007 working on Wii Homebrew Channel - Image 1Lately, we've haven't heard much updates for Wii64, the N64 emulator for the Wii. However, it seems that one gamer didn't need it.
