Jimi Hendrix and The Raconteurs will be appearing in Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii). They will be bringing three songs each and Jimi's gonna be a playable character. All I can say is: it's about time.

One edge of the Xbox Live Arcade over Nintendo's Virtual Console system is the fact that XBLA allows prospective buyers to demo the game before spending precious Microsoft points on them. Nintendo doesn't have that policy, but tries to ease the burden a little by letting their crowd see videos of games they have ready for download.

 

While it isn't as good as having the privilege of sampling a classic title before purchasing it, this is a lot better than throwing your Nintendo currency to get a game that you have no idea of what it looks like and how it plays. Younger gamers who didn't run through the NES and SNES days can see what early The Legend of Zelda titles looked like and decide later on whether they want to travel back in time or stay with their generation.

Good news, people! Walmart.com has just began offering pre-orders for the Wii Points Card earlier this week. The Points Card is a monetary retail payment system for the Wii's premium game content. Redeemable at the Wii Shop Channel, an online division accessible via your Wii, Walmart.com is retailing 2000 Wii Points for US$ 24. 82.

The Virtual Console games, Nintendo's library of classic video game titles, will be initially offered at the Wii shop for US$ 5 to US$ 10. Meanwhile, Microsoft is also offering Microsoft Points, which basically is an online system at retail that pretty much works the same way. This one, though, sells 1600 US$ 19.99 at retail.

Wii lands in the U. S. on November 19 with a tag of US$ 249.99. And, no Paris. Walmart does not sell walls.
