Michael Pachter shares another batch of his opinions in the latest Bonus Round show. This time, he's setting a date for the release of the Wii HD. And it's coming as soon as next year.

Analysts have released their predictions for the September US sales period ahead of the official numbers from NPD. According to both Michael Pachter and Jesse Divnich, all points indicate a superb showing for the Sony PS3.

The name Michael Pachter is no stranger in the gaming industry. Every so often, the Wedbush Morgan industry analyst makes a prediction, states an opinion, sometimes even throws a controversial comment. With that said, Pachter will be lending his voice and his knowledge of the industry to keynote the Game Investment Conference this November.

Always quick with a comment, Michael Pachter has weighed in on the rumor about Microsoft buying Electronic Arts. As far as the Wedbush Morgan analyst is concerned, the rumor doesn't make any sense at all.

With both Sony and Microsoft making their respective price cuts and marketing efforts, the Wii has been left stagnating on its price point, making it less competitive in the market. With declining sales and no plans of shedding a few pounds off the price tag, Michael Pachter predicts that things will not get any better for the Wii in September.

The Wii may still look to be dominating the consoles charts, but the truth is its unit sales are down by as much as 50% year-over-year. Because of this drop in sales, Nintendo will most likely consider a holiday price cut. At least according to Michael Pachter.

The much-anticipated NPD software sales for June 2009 have finally been released, but while it's easy to be overwhelmed by the numbers in the thousands, they are, actually, underwhelming. in fact, the analysts have been proven right in their prediction that it will see the fourth consecutive sales decline -- and more. The newly-released sales numbers are now described as the "largest drop in nine years."

If the analysts turn out right, then we just might see the fourth consecutive sales decline in the June results of NPD, and then we'll see that price cut happen.
