It's not over for the Quake Wii project. Homebrew developer Eluan shoved some more updates for the Nintendo Wii homebrew game and smoothed out several rough edges. Currently there are two major improvements to the gameplay experience: the aiming has been tweaked (ala Metroid Prime 3), and the rendering of the game has been upped several notches in resolution. Heads up, retro gamers! The US Virtual Console will be getting two new games tomorrow from the classic Sega platforms. This week, we're getting Fantasy Zone, the quirky arcade shmup, and Mega Turrican, the classic shooter game from the mid-90s. Details in the full article.

It seems that Nintendo is following suite with the release of its preview channel for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and released its own Beta Demo Channel for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. What enters your mind when you hear the word "gamer"? Chances are you're a gamer yourself, so your answer's pretty different compared to a non-gamer's. According to Dawn Paine, Nintendo UK Head of Marketing, a non-gamer's definition of a "typical" gamer is a "long haired nerd, screaming as he gripped a control pad."

To address this, Paine aims to bring in a new type of gamer, one that would stand for "self development, health, beauty and fitness" with their Touch! Generation software. More in the full article.

Surfer Girl is at it again, this time bringing up images of what seem to be Activision's Marvel Ultimate Alliance before it was released. On a blog of  "such things that never was," two screenshots show The Legend of Zelda's Link and Metroid's Samus Aran as characters in the action RPG's Wii version.
