A new update for MPlayer CE, a Wiibrew media player app based on MPlayerWii and GeeXboX, has been released today courtesy of the MPlayer CE team. The new update has fixed the USB Adaptor problem, improved cIOS and added a lot of small bug fixes.

Wii brew devs Scip, Rodries, etc. have created a fork of the Team Twiizers' MPlayer port, adding in elements of the MPlayerWii and GeeXboX to make their own touch. If you just came across this app, MPlayer basically turns your Wii into a media player.

Wii homebrew devs Scip, Rodries, and the rest of the MPlayer gang have released a new update for MPlayer, a homebrew solution for those who want to turn their Nintendo Wii into a media player. Farter is back with a new update for his Wii port of GeeXboX. GeeXboX is a media player application that can play all audio and video files that MPlayer can. Wad Studio v0.0.0.2b14 is a Windows application from Wilsoff, aimed at helping the user edit animated WADs (Banner and Icon). What it does is to automate the extraction of images from a WAD file provided by the user. It then converts these images to TGA format, and from there you can edit it in Photoshop or GIMP 2.0.

An unofficial version of GeeXboX has been released by Wiibrew developer Tulkas. GeeXboX is a port of the popular media player program for the Wii, and can play all audio and video files that MPlayer can. This new version adds support for even more file system types. Details after the link.
