Wiibrew developer teknecal has released a new version of Homebrew Browser, the program that can let you download and update homebrew straight from your console. This version sports a new "Popular" category, several other features, as well as bug fixes. Details in the full article.

Wiibrew developer joedj has released an update to FTPii, the FTP server for the Wii. Useful when you want to transfer files from your PC to an SD card on your Wii. This version has several improvements to the code, and new features as well. Details after the link.

Homebrew developer Hell Hibou has released an update to Wii Homebrew Launcher. In case you missed the previous releases, this program loads Wiibrew straight from the front SD card and organizes them into a Wii Menu-style GUI, with each program having its own customizable channel. Now at version 0.0.11, FTPii's stability has been improved to an extent, especially when it comes to initializing the server while USB devices are attached and also initialized. Homebrew developer joedj also threw in a sweet little addition to security as well. Details at the full story.

Okay, so maybe the wait for multi-capable video playback on your Wii is taking a lot longer than you could take. Luckily the homebrew community around the Nintendo Wii has enough projects going around to provide enough of a selection for homebrew users out there. NeoGeo Pocket emulation on the Wii and Gamecube is now a reality, thanks to homebrew developer Askot. The coder, known for introducing the first NES emulator on Nintendo's next generation console, has been a driving force behind most of the Wii ports game console emulators, and today isn't one to detract from legacy. Though days old, the GameBoy Color for the Nintendo Wii and GameCube known only as RIN has been upgraded to version 2008-06-20, which is a massive upgrade since the previous version of the homebrew emulator.  Homebrew developer Askot picked up where author mirakichi left off, and now RIN has GC support.
