Lucasarts: No new games at E3 due to The Force is not strong at E3 this year, as LucasArts has decided not to announce any new games during the event because of "too much noise" surrounding it. Hopefully this doesn't mean that we won't hear any news on the upcoming Star Wars games. More in the full article.

*UPDATE* LucasArts has clarified that they will still be attending E3, after some initial confusion at their announcement.

Star Wars - Image 1Cutting up people with a sword on your Nintendo Wii may be fun, but doing the same thing with a lightsaber is tons better. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we may be able to do it, as Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga developer Jonathan Smith from TTGames says that making a 1:1 lightsaber game for the Nintendo Wii is not as easy at it sounds, it will take some time before someone comes up with a way to accurately translate a Wiimote's movements into the graceful and deadly art of lightsaber combat.

LucasArts and BioWare partner for new game project - Image 1

LucasArts and Bioware Corp. have sent word that they have entered an agreement to create what appears to be a new game. No further details were announced, although the two promised that more information for this new product will be released in the near future. LucasArts president Jim Ward had this to say regarding the partnership:

LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare. Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.

We know what you're thinking (nope, we ain't Jedi) - could this new project possibly be the Star Wars MMORPG that BioWare's been rumored to be working on as far back as last year? It's a little too early to tell at this point, but given that the original Star Wars Galaxies MMORPG (developer by Sony Online Entertainment) has been struggling lately due to its past updates, we imagine this news leaves the longtime fans with a sense of new hope (pardon the pun).

On the other hand, we could also be looking at a new non-online RPG, hopefully within the lines of a KOTOR sequel. It might be a little redundant, though, given that LucaArts is already working on Star Wars: The Force unleashed for the Sony PSP, Sony PS3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360. We'll let you know when the pair releases more info.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Image 1

The Force seems to favor Nintendo Wii owners, since not only will they be getting Star Wars: The Force Unleashed with access to the console's unique motion sensing controls, but they'll also be bringing the lightsaber to life with the Wii Remote's internal speaker. In other words, the Wiimote will act like an actual Jedi weapon as it makes sounds when you wave it around.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will also grace other platforms, namely the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, and DS, but the experience on Nintendo's console can't be matched according to LucasArts President Jim Ward. "The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," he told FOX News.

LucasArts discussed further about how the game will explore what went on between "Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope." Spotlight's on an apprentice under Darth Vader's care who'll make his appearance for the first time to shed light on untold stories in the Star Wars franchise.

"We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force," Ward added. Playing as a Sith Lord's apprentice with a lightsaber and control of the Force? We're in.

No More Heroes site update - Image 1No More Heroes site update - Image 2

Marvelous Interactive just updated the official website of upcoming title No More Heroes and this time, focus was given on main protagonist Travis Touchdown and his two gadgets - namely his uber cool motorcycle and the dreaded lightsaber beam katana. There's still no official statement regarding release date but the video game is expected some time this September.

Anyway, we guess we don't have to talk too much about the motorcycle as its use is pretty much needless to say. Regarding the beam katana, take note that this is different from the Jedi Order's main weapon of choice as Travis' sword runs out of power. You can pick up battery packs throughout the game to charge it or just wiggle the Wiimote up and down.

Aside from the above mentioned, the update also features Travis' thing for wrestling. There are several screenshots on the page showing our guy doing suplex and other familiar moves. Intriguingly, the screenshots reveal a small tiger icon on the upper right hand corner and quite honestly, we haven't heard anything about that one yet.

If you can understand Japanese, or just want to see some No More Heroes goodness, our Read link below will take you to the official site's updated page.
