MPlayerWii v0.06 - Image 1MPlayer seems to be the name of the game this week in the Wiibrew community. Not long after the latest release of GeeXboX, developer fcorbier has released a new version of his media player for the Wii, MPlayerWii. This version gets a speed boost on reading USB devices, and added support for the classic controller.

Wii homebrew - Image 1A new version of Hermes' Guitarfun homebrew game has been released. In case you haven't been keeping up on it, Guitarfun is a Guitar Hero clone similar to Frets on Fire. This release features the addition of USB support courtesy of coder rodries.

Wii ISO loader creator not bailing out after all? - Image 1Well, it's no wonder Team Twiizers is so secretive with their codes. Wiibrew dev waninkoko explains that his reasons for initially dropping his ISO loader project wasn't because of the leak, but because of "all the people downloading it, sharing it, making tutorials, and such."

Fortunately, he's reconsidering coming back to the project. More details after the link.
