earth - Image 1A new update for WiiEarth has been released by homebrew coder Paul Wagener. This Wiibrew app allows you to use your Wiimote to navigate the Earth using Google Maps and similar services. The new update adds widescreen support and some more bug fixes.

The Feel - Image 1AQ Interactive showed off the first screenshots for their upcoming Wii horror game, The Feel, at a recent press conference in Japan. The game still needs some polishing to get rid of the nasty jaggies, but the Ju-on atmosphere seems there. Well, the creepy little ghost kid's there, at least.

STOP THE VIOLENCE! - Image 1Last month's school shooting incident in Winnenden, Germany, opened the floodgates for German government officials to fire criticisms aimed at violent video games. Some have called for tighter restrictions, while others have even demanded for outright bans. Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann, a frequent critic of violent games, falls in the latter category. In fact, according to GamePolitics, he think that violent video games are pretty much the same as drugs and child porn.

Wii homebrew - Image 1Who wants to be a Wii-llionaire? Congrats to Slumdog Millionaire, by the way, for owning the Oscars. As for Wii Quizz, Cashman just bumped it up to v2.05, and you can go shoot for a million in-game bucks and be a Wii-llionaire. Fixes and improvements for this version are directed mostly to connectivity-related issues. Changelog in the you-know-where.
