After losing three consecutive games of FIFA 2008 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS) to his brother and a friend, 17-year-old James Callaghan nearly emptied a bottle of vodka, armed himself with an axe and a long-bladed knife, and went on a drunken rampage around the neighborhood that left an unfortunate 65-year-old widow dead.

A lot of games are coming out this week. A veritable rainbow of releases, if you will. If we scale it, the red part (ROY G BIV, remember?) would include big titles like Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for PSP, Borderlands, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 and FIFA Soccer 10. Electronic Arts is most certainly proud to announce today the record-breaking launch of the latest iteration in the FIFA videogame franchise, FIFA 10 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and PC). In its first week alone, said title has earned over 1.7 million copies throughout European retail.

EA Sports confirmed the release date for their multiplatformer sports title, FIFA 10. Their press release on their official page sets the date for the game kickoff to be on October 2nd.

"It's time to stop bad-mouthing EA." This is what David Rutter, producer for Electronic Arts FIFA game franchise, had to say to the naysayers and critics that have nothing but the worst to say about his company. There has been a lot of EA-bashing for some time now, so Rutter comes to EA's defense, with a small confession of his own.

Nothing feels quite like taking it strong against the defenders and scoring that sweet, sweet top-corner goal. For FIFA 10, Electronic Arts decided to raise the bar to give you a much better experience than any FIFA game before it. Learning from a massive 275 million games played online, EA Sports gathered all the feedback and input from players and their games to bring new innovations for the soccer sensation. Call of Duty: World at War is still top gun in the UK. So far, nothing's been able to knock it off the top of the software charts since it entered last month. Resistance 2, on the other hand, is only on its second week in the regions and has already fallen to 20th place.

The numbers are in from the UK and it looks like gamers are still too busy with Call of Duty: World at War to bother with Resistance 2, which entered the charts at 10th place. That's way lower than expected for the highly anticipated (or not) game.
