Those who are waiting for their fix of courtroom drama (mixed with a dose of Adult Swim acid) on their Wii, PS2, and PSP are bound for a disappointment: it looks like Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law by Capcom for the Wii and PSP is going to be delayed, according to the game's release dates in two different online retail stores.Online store Amazon lists Harvey Birdman's release date as January 8 next year, while EBgames has January 1, 2008 as Harvey Birdman's shipping date. Of course, both may simply be placeholders for the actual dates, but what happened to its previous November 13 release? Will Harvey Birdman join the league of delayed games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Do check this space to find out. |

In this news article, we point out a rather glaring mistake two popular videogame store chains have made - specifically, using a misleading mockup of an upcoming game's pack shot. The name of the game - Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. The two culprits - EBgames and GameStop.Of course, it's not really a bad thing. With the daily updates coming from the Smash Brothers Dojo website increasing hype and need for the game each time they reveal new stuff about the title, you'd really want to make sure that you have an eye-catching image for people to know that yes, you can reserve this awesome piece of Nintendo happy before its release date on December 3. What's bad is that they went ahead and included characters that haven't even been confirmed for the game yet - Ness, Captain Falcon, and Sonic the Hedgehog to name a few. This could very well lead to false advertising - as well as some irate customers after finding out that they've been misled. One thing EBgames and GameStop could have done, though, was to print images from the updates of Smash Brothers Dojo. They pack more of a graphical punch anyway, seeing as they show the actual game in action. That, or have a pretty employee dress up in a bright blue swimsuit and a blonde wig (if pretty female employee isn't blonde) and cosplay as Samus in her Zero Suit, just to promote the game. That always helps. How about you, dear reader? What do you think EBgames and Gamestop could have done to promote SSB:Brawl other than using the ad above? Let us know by your comments. |

Guess what turned up at online shop EBGames in the wake of the E3? The product page for Wii Fit is now up, and there are two bits of information to take a look at: the release date and price. For the release date, it could be a tentative one. EBGames currently clocks it at January 1. Seems just about right, in our books, but we'll still take it with a grain of salt. The game's just been announced anyways, and we've yet to get more updates on it through the following months. A lot of things can happen from now until 2008, after all. As for the price, US$ 70 seems just about right - that's considering if EBGames would be releasing Wii Fit with the Wii Balance Board peripheral. But judging from Wii Play - US$ 50 if you bought it bundled with the Wiimote - a US$ 70 Wii Fit bundle would be reasonable. The product page doesn't have much other details just yet, so just stay tuned. But for now, the Read link to EBGames is below for your perusal. |

How much did you like Medal of Honor: Heroes for the PlayStation Portable? We asked because we might be getting the sequel in the near future if EBGames' placeholders come true. We've found not one, but two placeholders (as you can see above) for Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. One is on EBGames' PSP page while the other one is one the Wii page. Hmm... Very interesting. We reported a few weeks back about the sequel getting a placeholder on GameFly, but that's only for the PSP version. We checked the interwebs further and found two placeholders on Amazon for the said sequel. Amazon and EBGames seems to agree on the tentative release date: November 6, 2007. Well, let's all cross our fingers and hope these really do come out as the placeholders predict. In the meantime, we'll file this under the Rumors bin for now while we wait for solid confirmation from Electronic Arts. Stay glued. |

Fans of the Cruis'n series rejoice, it may be coming out on the Wii. It appears that EBGames has it listed on their site that the pre-release copies will be shipping on November 1 this year. Old school gamers will remember the first game from the arcade where it was initially released - or the ported version on the N64. Three games joined the series: Cruis'n World, Cruis'n Exotica, and Cruis'n Velocity but was relatively unnoticed by the gaming community. This arcade style racer was very fast and furious with impressive graphics (at least for that generation.) One thing that players should note is the attention to detail that the Midway Games put into the game, going so far as to sending artists on a trip around the world to digitally capture sights and major tourist attractions. If you're into racing and have a Wii, you might want to check this game out if the rumor does hold true. If it remains true to its gameplay in previous iterations, then it'll definitely be a blast. |

A lot of things have been said about RedOctane's Guitar Hero III, and the latest rumor bodes well for Wii owners. Anihawk from the NeoGAF forums happened to see the Gamestop reservations pricelist for the game. The Wii version was priced at US$ 89, while the PS2, PS3, XBox 360 versions were going to be sold for US$ 99. However, bear in mind that as of this article's writing, the GameStop and EBGames website does not have these products posted yet, so this may be just unconfirmed talk. If this is true and it starts a trend, and game publishers decide to release their games at lower prices for the Wii than for the PS2, this might be another selling point for the already popular console. That said, the game is slated for a fall release this year. Be sure to keep checking back here for more updates on Guitar Hero III. |

Here's a couple of interesting photos for you: We came across these lists supposedly procured by Advance Media Networks' Ray Almeda who allegedly got his hands on lists of DS and Wii releases headed to GameStop and EBGames. Check them out and see if you find anything interesting: Headlining the Wii is the Resident Evil Wii Edition, The Simpsons: The Game and CSI 4: Hard Evidence. Also in the mix are The Bigs, Harvest Moon Wii and Golden Compass. |

Most of you guys may have already read about Electronic Arts' plans in their next FIFA titles - dynamic commentary. Well, that article was listed under the Xbox 360 and PS3 blogs, but could it be that a FIFA title is also slated for the Wii in the coming months? Judging from this EBgames listing, that is a possibility.
EBgames.com has a listing for FIFA Soccer 08 for the Wii, which is set to be released on September 25, 2007, or so said the listing. Of course, nothing official has came out straight from the horse's mouth, so we'll stamp this post with a bold, red RUMOR mark. But trust us when we say that we'll get to the bottom of this tidbit. For now, see for yourself the EBgames listing if you don't believe us. |

If Toys "R" Us has their own bit of Ubisoft promotional discounts, then what's to say EBGames/Gamestop can't either? While we've reported yesterday of Red Steel getting some price shavings, it turns out that yet another game got the similar "super (down)size me" treatment. As things stand now, both Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Red Steel are available (for this week, at least) for US$ 29.99.
As Siliconera reports, the promo runs from March 2 - 8, so if you haven't gone spying with Sam Fisher, then now's your chance. If, all this time since the game was released, you've been thinking that it wasn't worth getting, then maybe with this offer, you might change your mind. On top of that, the 360-version of this game is getting a price cut too. However, instead of a 20-bucks cut, you'll only be able to save 10 from its original price, thus bringing the 360-version down to US$ 39.99. Hey, anything for a discount, ya? |
