Super Mario Galaxy - Image 1Reports from the NeoGAF forums say that Super Mario Galaxy has been leaked onto the Internet. The leak was reportedly done by an EB Games employee using one of the demo copies found at EB Games stores.

The EB Games demo copies apparently have a ten-minute restriction on them. This ten-minute limit, however, works only with the store's proprietary demo machines. When played on consumer Wiis, the disc actually contains the entire game.

So far, Nintendo hasn't commented on the leak. Suffice to say, they won't be very happy about it, especially with the company's ongoing battle against piracy. The official release of Super Mario Galaxy is currently scheduled for November 12 in North America and November 16 in Europe.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law - Image 1Those who are waiting for their fix of courtroom drama (mixed with a dose of Adult Swim acid) on their Wii, PS2, and PSP are bound for a disappointment: it looks like Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law by Capcom for the Wii and PSP is going to be delayed, according to the game's release dates in two different online retail stores.

Online store Amazon lists Harvey Birdman's release date as January 8 next year, while EBgames has January 1, 2008 as Harvey Birdman's shipping date. Of course, both may simply be placeholders for the actual dates, but what happened to its previous November 13 release?

Will Harvey Birdman join the league of delayed games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Do check this space to find out.

EB Games/ GameStop - Image 1Not seeing much EB Games stores lately? That would be because it appears as though the merge of EB Games and GameStop sealed in 2005 is finally closing up all loose ties for good. Gaming Target reports that in Rochester, NY, two more branches of EB Games have been renamed to GameStop as of last week.

Although the merge happened two years back, both companies still retained their individual identities - until today, that is. Since GameStop acquired EB Games, the latter has been slowly assimilated into the GameStop profile, and today, it seems that the makeover is drawing its completion. Official announcements on the matter have yet to be given by the companies involved, but you yourself can check that EB Games stores have been silently "disappearing" from neighborhoods, and are instead replaced with GameStop stores.

But while EB Games will be sorely missed, we can only wish for good things to come out of this change. We'll be sure to keep you posted on more updates.

Rumor: Super Mario Galaxy pre-orders at 400,000 mark - Image 1Rumors have been floating around that Super Mario Galaxy pre-orders have already hit the 400,000 mark. This information allegedly comes from employees working at GameStop/EB Games. Aside from the tip GoNintendo received on this, they did a little checking of their own and came up with the same numbers.

While this isn't an official release by Nintendo, it could very well be a good measure of how successful this game will be when it does come out. If this rumor proves to be true, Nintendo may have yet another hit on their hands. After all, with the success of most of their franchises and consoles, it would be pretty hard to believe that their flagship IP wouldn't be cashing in as well.

Super Mario Galaxy is slated for a November 12 release in the US and November 1 in Japan. Perhaps we'll be getting an official announcement regarding how this game sold after that.

Metroid Prime Demo at Gamestop/EB Games - Image 1

A number of posts ago, we reported that Nintendo has decided to give us a month of Metroid goodness and well, today's bit of news will pretty much top off the cake for most of you guys. I-ninja-u-dead from the IGN Forums was able to find a kiosk at a local Gamestop/EB Games store and found (*insert drum roll here*) a fully playable Metroid Prime 3: Corruption demo.

As you can probably imagine, the thread was peppered with questions and a lot of disbelief. The poster added a picture of the said kiosk which indeed shows the game (refer to the image above) with the controls shown below the screen under the Metroid Prime 3 logo. Before you run out to your local Gamestop/EB Games store though, there were some people who checked for it at their local stores, only to find a Brain Age kiosk. So it might be safe to surmise that the said kiosk hasn't appeared in all the branches as of yet.

The lucky basta... er - i-ninja-u-dead was good enough to give the specifics on where he was able to play it: Portland, Oregon, at the Washington Square Mall. He also gave some details regarding Metroid Prime 3: Corruption that will make you want to hate him more,

Well, I started out with doing all the new interacting abilities in the ship, which were all very cool and fun to use withe the pointer enhanced finger pressing. Then on ground, I used the Scan Visor, Morph Ball, Morph Ball bombs, Morh Ball jump (Simply flick up on the Wii Remote to jump in morph ball mode - very intuitive and much improved from the old method), Jump, Double Jump, Shoot, Lock On (The new lock on with the free aim felt great, but was tough to wrap your head around initially), and the new grapple beam move (Was incredibly fun, satisfying and easy to pull off). I also used some of the new methods of interacting, with the Pull Back-Twist-Push Forward to release locks, and you can now point at companions and press A to talk to them.

At any rate, it wouldn't hurt to check. Samus Aran might be waiting.
