Nintendo sees the future: games galore for DS, Wii - Image 1

Nintendo has just shoveled a cartload of games coming to DS and Wii gamers, and it looks like gamers will have a smorgasbord (in the English sense) of titles to dig into. The number of games coming to both platforms have been attributed to humongous third-party developer support - which in the beginning was fairly lacking.

Release dates congest the final months of 2007 and that fact is naturally attributed to the arrival of the peak season for game sales, as a good number of big name publishers have been gearing themselves to support the booming market. Nintendo's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications, George Harrison just had to say:

Because of Wii and Nintendo DS momentum, third-party publishers are supporting our systems like never before. Their lineup of diverse games is testament to how we make the population of gamers a little bigger every day.

By the end of 2007, Nintendo's Wii game library would have reached an approximate 140, while the DS nears 450. Beyond 2007, the Wii and DS have games also lined up straight onto the first quarter of fiscal year 2008. Prepare for another little surprise in the DS list: you would have noticed that Nintendo has Ubisoft Montreal's Assassin's Creed listed for a February tentative release.

The full DS and Wii title lineup forecasts comin' atcha at the full article!
