According to a recent listing from online rental store GameFly, a new title called Winter Games is coming to Nintendo Wii this November 16. It's being published by Conspiracy Entertainment but aside from that, nothing is known about this title.Except maybe for the fact that it's going to be a compilation of sports games. The older gamers might remember that a game with a similar title was released back in 1986 on Commodore 64. It was then ported on video game consoles. That Winter Games was developed by Epyx. It featured a total of eight players who compete in various sports games in an attempt to win a medal. Nintendo has yet to comment on the matter and until it does, we'll just putting this one under Rumors. |

It goes without saying that this week is going to be big, and we need not remind you why but we're going to say it anyway: Halo 3. Yup, Master Chief is blasting to the shelves, but let's not overlook all the other titles that are charging to the stores alongside our intrepid hero. This week also marks the release of sports titles like NBA 08 and Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights
for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3, while the Wii and DS
get their steady doses of assorted titles. The PC gamers will not be
finding their side of the shelves in want either so it might be safe to
say that we're all going to be happy with these week's output of video
games. Our wallets have a fight ahead of them, though.Animal Genius. What's your animal IQ? For example, do you know the difference between a panther and a leopard? You'll get to exercise your wildlife knowledge in Animal Genius with its five games: Matchomatic, Maze Munch, Animal Expert, Scratch 'N See, and Creature Collector.

Some hot titles are hitting the shelves this week, what with much anticipated titles like Heroes of Mana and Luminous Arc finally arriving. EA's explosive Madden NFL '08, which should sell like hotcakes, will also be available on all platforms.DS owners are getting much love - noteworthy titles include Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon that promises to take the favorite farming game deeper into RPG territory. High School Musical: Makin' the Cut also expands the library by adding a sing-and-dance game for all ages. Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics. Yet another shot at making a video game based on phenomenal tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons, D&D: Tactics faithfully implements D&D 3.5 rules as players follow the story of a young child. Taking either good or evil alignment ultimately decides the ending. Co-op allows players to work together, while deathmatch mode pits them against each other.

Data Design Interactive has a growing library of Wii video game titles and it's fair to say that as much as they are good ones, they are not quite familiar to consumers yet. All that is about to change as the developer/publisher has just announced its participation at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. Data Design Interactive President Stewart Green had this to say: This show gives us the ability to meet trade visitors and members of the press. We will be presenting our first four Nintendo Wii games that have gone gold and hopefully by time the show comes around, we will have had another three titles to add to the four that will be ready to ship in the next few week. The aforementioned Wii games that have gone gold include: Billy the Wizard, Ninjabread Man, Anubis II, and Rock N Roll Adventures: Elviz. Data Design also mentioned that it will be announcing a new game called Popcorn Arcade during the convention. It was reported earlier that Data Design has collaborated with Conspiracy Entertainment Corporation for the latter to publish and distribute the first nine of Data Design's Wii titles in Asia and the U.S. |

If you would look at the Entertainment Software Rating Board's (ESRB) official site, it has added a newcomer to its list of games for the Nintendo Wii, placed under Conspiracy Entertainment's publishing house. Counter Force, the said title, has been given a rating of E10+ for Violence. Now if you'll remember, we posted a news about a couple of months ago about a 3D mech shooter making its way to the Wii from Conspiracy Entertainment. Could this be that title it was talking about before? Well, we're definitely interested. And we'll definitely keep you posted on more updates as they come along. |

How would you like to have a futuristic 3D mech shooting title for Wii? Given all the possibilities one can imagine with the Wiimote and Nunchuk, we can say that this indeed is interesting. We brought the topic up because Conspiracy Entertainment is planning to release one in Q2 of 2007. The game will be based on an arcade game created by Japan-based Hyper-Devbox. We only know that the working title for the game is "Shoot Out" and the background story involves alien robot machines trying to invade Earth, and Earth is defended by freedom fighters fighting for, well, freedom. Anyway, the revelation came with Conspiracy's announcement that it recently inked a deal with Hyper-Devbox. The latter's president, Carlo Perconti, had a few things to say about the newly forged venture: We are very excited to collaborate with Conspiracy to increase the intensity and enjoyment of the game, while remaining true to its original and much-loved design and aesthetic. The freedom of Wii's distinctive handheld wireless controller is ideal for creating a 3D 'shoot 'em up' experience and will allow players a greater feeling of interaction. This is great news indeed. However we're wondering about their other titles: Baja Mania and Baja Destruction. Conspiracy mentioned that it will be releasing the games on Q1 of 2007. But this time, the company mentioned that "Shoot Out" will actually be its first Wii game. So what happened to those two? We'll look into the matter carefully and tell you whatever we find out. In the mean time, when it comes to a mech Wii game, it is all green for us here. |
