Bike Hero - Image 1Awww... so it was a professional production after all. I was ready to give those "neighborhood kids" a boxload of Mario stars for the superb "Bike Hero" clip they did for Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii), until Activision told the bursting-your-bubble-truth about the pros behind this smart marketing scheme of theirs. Revelation spins after the jump.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars game adaptation heading to DS, Wii - Image 1 May the Force be with Wii. And DS. That's what a posted advertisement tells us after plastering Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in their CGI movie form together with logos of the Wii and DS. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is based on the same cartoon series Star Wars fans had watch before seeking out Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in theaters or DVD. Closure reasons, surely. If you've missed the cartoon, you might want to reconsider missing the game adaptation of the cartoon's CGI movie remake. More at the full story.

Capcom and Sony plan to make a full-length CG movie based on Resident Evil - Image 1

Taking a page from Square Enix's successful release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" a couple of years back, Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced plans to release their own full-length CGI movie based on the hit Resident Evil (a.k.a. Biohazard in Japan) franchise.

The movie will be titled "Biohazard: Degeneration", and will be the first full-length CG animation movie feature based on the popular video game series of games and movies.

Many will recognize Resident Evil for establishing the survival horror game genre and its many successful titles across multiple platforms since it was first released in 1996. The latest iteration to the series, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, marks the continuation of the video game franchise and shows no sign of stopping any time soon.

Following a successful spin-off on the silver screen, the trilogy of films produced and directed by Paul Anderson was well received by movie and video game buffs everywhere, with each movie grossing over US$ 100 million at the international box office. With Sony's and Capcom's announcement of this newest offspring for the series, fans of Resident Evil will definitely be watching out for this latest cinematic experience.

No news on the characters or its plot in the complicated timeline of the Resident Evil series have been announced, but we're keeping our eyes open for any new developments from the two companies. Biohazard: Degeneration is currently in production and set to be released in 2008.

Spyro - Image 1Following the trend of other video games going to the big screen (such as Castlevania), Sierra Entertainment's diminutive purple dragon Spyro may be hitting the movies as well.

Variety has recently reported that The Animation Pictures Co. managed to get the rights to create a Spyro 3D animation film based on the Spyro game franchise, similar to the likes of currently popular CGI animation movies such as Shrek.

The planned Spyro movie will get a top-notch movie treatment, with Dr. Doolittle's Steve and Dan Altiere as script writers. As for voice actors, considering that the game already had a high profile cast (such as Elijah Wood and Gary Oldman), it's not a far-fetched guess that the movie will have the same star-studded voice cast.

The director is yet to be hired and the release date yet to be revealed, but you can be sure that we'll keep you posted. More updates to come!
