Squeidos - Image 1As GamesCom slowly approaches, we've got more publishers announcing their lineup for the said event. For today, it's Square Enix and their newly-acquired Eidos, and the two will be sharing one booth to showcase their joint lineup. Hold your horses though, there aren't any crossovers from the two publishers just yet.

GamesCom 2009 - Image 1The newly formed Square Enix Europe has announced the games they'll be bringing to this year's GamesCom event. The list consists of games from both Square Enix and Europe and includes such titles as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). Four different Final Fantasies are also part of the showcase.

LEGO Batman Makes Watchdog Group's List of Terrible Toys - Image 1For once, Grand Theft Auto didn't make it into a list of things not to buy your kids - specifically, the TOADY (Toys Oppressive and Destructive to Young Children). So what did make the list? Lego Batman.

Harry PotterYou've got the Star Wars franchise, Batman, and Indiana Jones - all of them getting their own multiplatform Lego treatment for the past few years. And just last month, talks of a Harry Potter Lego ran rampant, with Warner giving a "no comment" response to the rumors. Now, it's been revealed that, whether or not Traveller's Tales really is Lego-fying Hogwarts, it definitely won't happen next year. Meanwhile, they might just throw us a new (err, newly recycled?) Lego game instead.

Fallout 3 - Image 1 Fable 2 took a hit on the the UK charts last week as Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) launched in the UK last October 31st. The post apocalyptic action RPG took the top spot as it sold more copies in two days than all the games in the franchise combined. Chart Software - Charttrack UK - Fable II on top - Image 1Looks like the problems that plagued Fable II's Limited Collector's Edition didn't stop it from becoming a best seller. The game debuted on top spot in the UK, with Far Cry II having to settle for second best. UK gamers doesn't seem to like survival-horror though - Dead Space only debuted at 6th place.

Lego Batman - Image 1In its second week running, FIFA 09 still manages to keep its score. Electronic Arts' football game retains the top spot in Chart Track UK's weekly sales ranking for software. Last week's seconder, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, looses its grip and slides down to fourth place, thus giving rise to the caped crusader. Lego Batman: The Video Game debuts this week in second place.
