Askot's Neopop Wii homebrew emulator is for the SNK NeoGeo Pocket handheld console. Originally based on neopopUK's NeoPop/SDL , it was later on ported to the GameCube by the "Genesis Plus" team, and then converted from a PC based platform to run on the GameCube's proprietary PPS Gekko processor. NeoGeo Pocket emulation on the Wii and Gamecube is now a reality, thanks to homebrew developer Askot. The coder, known for introducing the first NES emulator on Nintendo's next generation console, has been a driving force behind most of the Wii ports game console emulators, and today isn't one to detract from legacy. Ever since the Wii became homebrew-enabled, old school Nintendo gaming has definitely risen. One case in point is the number of homebrew emulators for older Nintendo systems. One of these is snes9xgx143, the beta version of which has been recently updated. More in the full article.

Though days old, the GameBoy Color for the Nintendo Wii and GameCube known only as RIN has been upgraded to version 2008-06-20, which is a massive upgrade since the previous version of the homebrew emulator.  Homebrew developer Askot picked up where author mirakichi left off, and now RIN has GC support. Developer NullEX has recently released FCE Ultra candidate 6. This is an unofficial version Askot's NES emulator for the Wii console which now carries full support for the Wiimote. Further details are available in the full article.
