Son Goku - Image 1Before the merge with Namco, Bandai has always been the publisher to watch when it came to Dragon Ball games. To this day, now as Namco Bandai, the publisher remains to be the world's Dragon Ball game provider, and that tradition continues with two more as Namco Bandai formally announces Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans.

Arale from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tekaichi 3's official website - Image 1On the latest update of Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 official website, Arale finally appears among over 150 characters available in the game. Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of this girl from the Dr. Slump manga, because she's not exactly the popular chick around.

For fans of the Dragon Ball Z manga and anime series, she's remembered as the girl who helped Goku and his friends combat General Blue in a brief saga. She has been a favorite cameo that most Akira Toriyama followers love, but we're among those who can't imagine what she'll be doing in battle.

We've seen Arale in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 scans before, but we are yet to figure out how she'll fight. Will she pick up moves from her Jump Super Stars version, or offer a breathe of fresh air as a female character among burly guys oozing with testosterone? Time will tell, when the game hits the shelves this November 13.

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi - Image 1We've all seen the updates and progress of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii, and its safe to say that Namco Bandai is definitely listening to fans while creating this epic anime brawler. First of all, the huge cast of playable characters in the game is one good indication that ole' Namco Bandai is pulling out all the stops in giving fan service to hardcore DBZ fans. But what about the other popular fan request, the custom character creation?

Producer Donny Clay said that they want to include such a feature in the final game, but they haven't had a chance to fully explore the possibility of implementing such a cool feature. He didn't mention if this is due to hardware, or due to time constraints, but Clay did promise that he will look into including a full custom character creation feature in future DBZ games.

We certainly do hope that such a nifty function will be included in later DBZ titles, complete with the Akira Toriyama look that all Dragon Ball Z fans know and love.

Here's the latest character artwork update for the upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 from the official site The Sparking! METEOR. These characters were all created by artist Akira Toriyama and should all be playable when the title is finally released this holiday season.

This batch of artworks focus mainly on Super Saiyan characters such as Bardock and Celipa. There are also some renditions of Freeza's brother Cooler when he's in metal form. Amidst all those powerful beings, there is one character that caught our attention. And he is no other than Mr. Satan himself.

Mr. Satan is considered strong for a human being but will definitely have a hard time keeping up with other Dragon Ball Z characters. So we can't help but wonder what skills and powers Mr. Satan has to offer to DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 players?

Well, if you remember your Dragon Ball Z universe well, Mr. Satan was "indirectly" responsible for destroying the wild and evil Kid Buu. What he did was convince everyone to give power to Goku's Genki Dama. So with this kind of luck and charisma on his side, maybe Mr. Satan does have something new to offer.

We guess we'll just wait for Namco Bandai to release DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 to know once and for all.

Dragon Ball Z - Image 1So, you've read the manga, loved the anime and got hooked on the games, but are you ready to see Son Goku and his friends take on the big screen? 20th Century Fox surely is.

According to Canadian news site Canada.com, 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead to three major film productions, one of them being a live-action movie based on Akira Toriyama's brainchild.

The movie will reportedly have a budget of no less than US$ 100 million, and will begin production soon with no details as to when it's projected to be shown.

The Dragon Ball Z franchise is considered as one of the most popular literary franchises in the world, with deals encompassing print, TV, video games, clothing and toys. Let's hope that this project yields results that will give justice to the legendary series. We'd love to see how the actors will go Super Saiyan on us.

The last time we heard about Atari's upcoming beat-em-up for the Nintendo Wii, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, we got an eyeful of Akira Toriyama's unique drawing style via a handful of character illustrations on the official game website.

Now, we get a chance to pick apart the minds behind the next-gen sequel of the high-octane martial arts videogame series via this second Developer Diary video of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, as well as know just how much new content we're looking at.

So what's new with the series this time around? Plenty. Not only are they stuffing the title full of new characters - King Vegeta, Nail and Selipa to name but a few of the newcomers - but they're also improving on most of the key elements that made the first two games so engaging and fun to play.

For example, while each character will still have the same number of unique attacks, every attack from the previous games have been redesigned, re-worked and re-imagined - so they'll not only look different, but play different as well.

Akira Toriyama seems very busy these days as the Dragon Ball Z! Sparking Meteor website has been updated once again with artworks of the different characters that will appear in the video game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 from Namco Bandai, Spike, and Atari.

This latest batch of artworks involves the much-loved characters while they were still children like Trunks, Goten and Gotenks. Of course, some of the character designs were dedicated to the characters' Super Saiyan form. If we may add, we'd like to say that our favorite design here is that of Vegeto.

To those not so familiar with this character, it's actually a fusion between Son Goku and Vegeta. This is not to be mistaken from Gogeta, who is also a fusion between the aforementioned two. Gogeta was formed doing a Fusion Dance while Vegeto was created via a special item known as Potaro Earrings.

Anyway, the DBZ universe is much too big to be accommodated in just one article and we'll just save the other discussions for future updates. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is expected to be released during the holiday season.

The Dragon Ball Z! Sparking Meteor website has just been updated and several artworks of your favorite characters from the video game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has been made available. The game is being co-developed by Spike, Atari, and Namco Bandai for the Nintendo Wii and will be released this holiday season.

Even though the site is in Japanese and we couldn't read a thing written there, we had fun here at QJ.NET browsing through the new images and talking about the Dragon Ball Z universe and its different incarnations. We talked about our favorite sagas and how the whole idea of having dragon balls granting wishes is bordering on, if not deus ex machina.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, in case you haven't heard yet, will feature an online mode that allows players go head-to-head with anyone in the world using normal as well as customized characters. We know you are all excited with this particular one as fans have been clamoring for online play for a while now.

And as always, the artworks that you can see in this article were provided by Akira Toriyama's learned and genius hands.

For those of us who just can't get enough of Akira Toriyama's epic tale of super-powered warriors, evil Saiyans and big-haired transformations, here's something extra to get you back into Dragon Ball Z fever: three more scans of Atari's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Nintendo Wii!

In this scan update from Shonen Jump, we see more of the three recently-confirmed characters (Dr. Wheelo, Selipa, Tambourine) in action against the regular cast of Dragon Ball Z. Besides that, however, we also get a blast from the past with the presence of Son Goku and his childhood girlfriend, Chichi, in the game, as well as a disturbingly evil-looking Son Goku in full Saiyan regalia.

It's been said quite a few times, but it bears repeating that the graphics are looking very nicely done. Toriyama's signature visual style has indeed made the jump from celluloid to polygon almost flawlessly, and you can't say that to many anime-to-game franchises of today. Updates as we get them, and enjoy the scans!
