THQ is at it again as they release the latest in its human-annihilating, brain-eating, alien loving Destroy All Humans! series with Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. The game is one of two titles promised by THQ and it aims to deliver the same brand of alien wholesale destruction Destroy All Humans! is known for.

Set as a prequel to the other iterations of the series, Crypto is back to pave the way for his other alien friend as he literally cooks up another scheme to take over the planet and... well, destroy all humans.

The developers from Locomotive Games will still be including all your favorite Disintegrater Rays and Ion Detonators at your disposal to take care of those pink skinned humans. Aside from Crypto's galactic standard UFO, you can also wreak untold amounts of havok with the Big Willy mech - and man is it big!

Destroy All Humans! - Image 1THQ recently revealed that it will be bringing two new entries in the Destroy All Humans! franchise to video game consoles next year.

The first title is Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. The game is currently being developed for the Nintendo Wii by Locomotive Games and should be released early next year.

Jack Sorenson, THQ's executive vice president of worldwide studios, revealed that Big Willy Unleashed will let gamers cause massive destruction on foot, in Crypto's UFO or at the controls of the Big Willy mech in a funked out version of the 1970s. Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed is also slated to be ported to the Sony PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable platforms.

Another Destroy All Humans! title is also in development for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 video game consoles. According to Sorenson, this open-world game - titled Path of the Furon - will follow Crypto on his "journey of enlightenment and destruction." Path of the Furon is slated for the first half of 2008.

Tamagotchi Party On! - Image 1

For those who were kids during the Tamagotchi boom, you'd love to check this out. The virtual pets are back, and this time they're taking over your Wii with Tamagotchi Party On!

As the Wii takes on more party games faster than you can say Wiimote, Namco Bandai certainly put a LOT of mini games into Tamagotchi Party On! The screenshots pretty much says everything about the Tamagotchi planet. It's colorful almost to the point of being garish and populated with the quirky and a bit weird looking Tamagotchis. The video on the other hand feature the various minigames including: rock, paper, scissors; score a goal; UFO memory; meatball maker; and catch Blobtchi.

We'll leave it at that for now. Meanwhile enjoy the screens and video. Watch out for more Tamagotchi Party On! updates and info as it's May release looms closer.

Game releases aplenty this week. They cover pretty much all of the gaming blogs we have here on QJ, too (good thing, that). The ones I'm personally looking forward to in this batch of new titles are flOw, Crackdown, and the DS title Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. I'd like to try my hand at THQ and Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander too but my strategic skillz are a bit lacking.

Anyway, here's the list of new releases for the week beginning February 19.

Releases - Image 1February 19

  • Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner (PSP)
  • UFO: Extraterrestrials (PC)
  • War Front: Turning Point (PC)
February 20
February 22
  • Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich (PC)
  • flOw (PS3)
  • Q*bert (PS3)

Rayman Raving Rabbids

Some brand new screenshots have emerged on the Internet today for Ubisoft's upcoming wacky title for the Wii, Rayman Raving Rabbids. The six new screenshots we see here show more of the wacky platformer as we have never seen him before - in perfect clarity being chased by UFO-riding space-bunnies. Yes I know it sounds stupid, but if you don't believe me look for yourselves! This game is a metaphor for the kind of games that Nintendo are looking to sell in their millions on the Wii.

The Wii hasn't been developed for ultra high-definition realistic battle scenes, but for fun. Can you imagine something possibly more fun (some would say childish) than waving a controller around your living room trying to get a character which doesn't have any limbs attached to its body to run away from space-faring bunnies? No, I thought not.
