The list of the top 20 games was revealed in a recent press release by Chart Track. Certain games such as Spider-man 3 (1), Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (2), and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (4) are there but you might be surprised at some of the newer additions.Need for Speed Carbon, The Sims 2: Pets and World Championship Snooker 2007 debuted at the 15th, 16th, and 17th slots respectively while Medal of Honor: Vanguard moved up one slot from its previous position at number 20. Noticeably absent from the list is Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, which must have been edged out since the last survey was taken. Anyway, here's the complete list of the top 20 best selling games across all formats in the UK. Top 20 best selling games in UK:

Another week ends and another dose of top videogames on the UK Chart Track for all formats. Last week's top dog (or should we say turtles?) TMNT has been usurped by Pokemon Ranger. Another DS title debuts in the top ten - Harvest Moon DS. Here's the list:

The turtles have finally done it. They've overthrown Kane and are currently sitting on the top spot of the UK sales charts (from Chart Track). Here's the rundown:

What's with those turtles eh? Sneaking up on Kane like that... Luckily, Kane still has the upper hand on those green ninjas, as you can see below in the most recent UK video games sales charts.

IGN reports that Ubisoft has launched a new website at rev64.com which appears to be a teaser for a new Tom Clancy title. The interactive site features a kind of radio voice over, a scrolling information ticker, and a few clickables that trigger some new audio clips. The site also includes the familiar Soldier logo, which IGN tags as a Rainbow Six logo. However, a quick look at the packshot for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 shows that it has actually become synonymous with pretty much ALL Tom Clancy titles. So, what is it? We're guessing that it's either a whole new title or a kind of compilation of all the Tom Clancy games. The links found on the site mention a "Ghost Leader" and a "Splinter Cell", among others, leading us to believe that this new title will somehow bring all of the Tom Clancy teams together in one large campaign. The game also looks like it'll be set somewhere in in a near-future Europe or, possibly, Eurasia. The voice over mentions a war going on in Europe. The 2026 Stockholm Winter Games is also mentioned, which would make the game take place in or after that particular year, and the mention of Korean teams, UEFA, and other European game leagues adds to the whole Eurasian flavor. The ticker on the left side of the site also mentions that the subject has "distaste, enmity, antipathy for dialects of Slavic descent." Slavic dialects, according to Wikipedia, have speakers in most of Eastern Europe, in much of the Balkans, in parts of Central Europe, and in the northern part of Asia. The EEC logo on the side of the ticker could also mean European (or Eurasian) Economic Community, and there is mention of reverse immigration into Asia. We'll bring you guys more details on this as they surface. |

Well, here's another look into the British video games' sales for this week. Our source (press release) has just released the numbers for the week ending March 31. The all formats race in the UK has Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (C&C3) coming from out of nowhere and stealing the top spot from two PS3 games.Electronic Art's RTS Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars has taken the number one spot from Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man, nudging it to number two. Everybody on last week's list followed suit with MotorStorm, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007, Virtua Tennis 3, TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, UEFA Champions League 2006 - 2007, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, and Call of Duty 3 taking the rest of the chart spots respectively. Some of last week's UK placers were - err... displaced, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and GRAW 2. Oh and Medal of Honor: Vanguard for the Wii fell short of the top ten (number 11, bummer) but did get snaps for being the highest new entry. There you have it folks. The strength of the PS3 games seems to be waning, but it just might be the C&C3's popularity showing. We'll see what happens in the next few days. |
