Homebrew - DolphinWx_972. - Image 1Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator for Windows, has been spruced up for a second beta release. Don't expect anything grand though - it only sports preliminary Wii support, and GC games compatibility is more or less the same.

Dolphin GameCube emulator - Image 1Whoa, hold your horses, people - we say preliminary Wii support because while there is Wii remote and emulation code integrated into the latest build of Dolphin, the GameCube emulator does not successfully play Wii games. Also note that while this update is Wii-centric and applies directly to Windows gamers, it's essentially here to call out to developers who would like to pick up the project. Learn more about it at the full story.

We reported some days ago about the Super Smash Bros. Brawl's "super" item called the Smash Ball. This item, when used, will enable your character top perform his/her personal Final Smash move. Today's Smash Bros. DOJO! update reveals Link's Final Smash move.

As one would expect, anything that has to do with Link has to do with the Triforce. It's only natural that in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, his personal move would naturally include something of the Triforce. In his Final Smash move, Link shoots something from the Triforce mark on his left hand. He dashes toward the enemy as the Triforce shot traps the enemy (in this case, Wario) in a sort of cage. Link then slashes a number of times and gives a final strike to finish off the enemy.

We'd hate to be at the business end of that attack. But don't worry, if you fall on terra firma, then there might be some hope left. Or you might want to practice the ring out recovery.

Zelda II on VC North Cmerica - Image 1

Nintendo of America (NoA) reminded all of us a couple of days ago that Zelda II - The Adventures of Link is going to be the 100th VC title to be released on the Wii's online service Virtual Console. Today, the day NoA updates VC for North America, fans will finally be getting their hands on Zelda II alongside three other retro titles.

The first one is side-scrolling platformer Toe Jam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron. The game was originally developed by Sega and has already been announced for VC Europe. Fans who want it should have at least 800 Wii Points. The remaining games are the following:
  • Milon's Secret Castle (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): It is a world where music is the language of the people. An evil warlord from the north arrives and captures the castle. The princess is imprisoned deep within the castle, and the world's musical instruments are taken and hidden away.
  • Dead Moon (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): The story begins with a comet discovered in the vicinity of Pluto that is headed on a sudden collision course with Earth. Mankind narrowly succeeds in diverting the comet's course, and it crashes into the moon. However, investigations into the damage uncover that what hit the moon was not a comet, but a gigantic mother ship.
Lastly, NES-original Zelda II is priced at 500 Wii Points. This title follows the adventures of Link as he returns to Hyrule to search for the Triforce and to awaken Zelda from an endless sleep. Embark on a quest to find the Triforce of Courage and save Hyrule from ruin.

This one here is for the true blue Zelda fans out here. So you want that one special thing that would mark you as the ultimate fan, eh? Then check these goodies right here. Over at True Swords, they are selling the Hylian Shield and Link's Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

First up, the Hylian Sword. Described as being multi-purpose, this shield is flexible enough to look good mounted up on your wall or worn on your arm. Made of high quality fiberglass, with metal mounting hardware attached to the back, this is as real as it can get, standing at 24 3/4 inches. For the handle, it's got a foam covered steel with Nylon/Velcro arm band, so there shouldn't be any problem with you strapping it on your arm. How much does it cost? US$ 74.99.

And then there's Link's Master Sword. Making it as real as possible, this collector's item is made of 440 Stainless Steel Blade, measuring at a massive 46 inches overall in length. For that real Zelda zing, it's also got the Triforce seal engraved on both sides of the blade. It even has a custom cut leather sheath coming along with it. Price tag looks pretty, too, at US$ 44.49.

Now wouldn't that be the perfect duo? You're free to check it out through our Via link below. See if it's worth your collection.

If you're too much of a Zelda fan that cosplay doesn't quite cut it for you anymore, then you might as well let your Wii console do all the cosplaying. Twilight Princess isn't just a game anymore. It's a fashion statement.

Spotted at a Toys 'R' Us for US$ 30, this Zelda-themed Wii deck looks like a worthy investment for the rabid Triforce-fan. The whole package contains a Wii stand for your console, games, and Wii remotes. There're also two Wiimote sleeves with the triforce logo, as well as a DVD case for your other games. Wii want it.

And once again, during another of our forays into the Intertubes, we found this nifty little mod that pretty much made us want to start spray-painting Wiis everywhere. Introducing the TriForce Wii, courtesy of Steve from Deadly Computer.

Besides the fact that the ever-majestic symbol of the TriForce is proudly emblazoned on the Nintendo console's surface, you gotta admit that the black and white Wiimote and Nunchuck look absolutely cool. Plus, this thing would also look great with the limited edition Zelda: TP guide book by its side. Sigh.

For those who want to know about just exactly how this was made, check out the images of the process that we have here, or just head on over to Deady Computer itself. In the meantime, we're hoping that this sends out a message to Nintendo: "We want Wiimotes and Nunchucks in various colors! Pink, red, blue, teal, green, purple, metallic gold..."
