Canadian voice actor Michael Rudder was among the many who were injured during the attacks in Mumbai. His work with games include voice acting for Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3) and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3. The voice actor suffered three bullet wounds, but thanks to quick medical action, he's out of harm's way and is recovering. More in the full article.

The NPD Group has released a compiled list of the top five best-selling games for each of the consoles. The report tracks sales data from the start of this year all the way up until August. Wondering which games made it to the lists? I'm sure some of you won't be surprised to see this or that title part of the list. Lots of acronym-friendly games chucked in, of course!

Last week we saw Nintendo lead the pack for the second week in a row as Mario Kart Wii dominated the software charts in Japan. This week tells a very similar story as the wacky go kart racing title racked in an additional 152,000 copies and took the top spot in the Media Create software chart list once again. March was a good month for video games (although any month is a good month for video games, really). One analyst, namely Colin Sebastian, says that because of strong titles released last month, video game software sales are expected to rise by about 35%. Have you ever wondered exactly how realistic those video game firearms really are? Video games such as Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 promise at least some measure of realism, but how exactly do the weapons measure up to the real thing?

Ubisoft recently acquired full rights to the Tom Clancy name on a perpetual basis, relieving them of all future obligations to pay royalties for the franchise.
