Team Ninja's Metroid: Other M was one of the titles that caught fans' attention during Nintendo's E3 presentation last week. There have been a few questions, however. For one, would it be a "proper" Metroid game and not a bastardization of the series? According to Reggie Fils-Aime, series fans can rest assured.

No ill feelings here. Tomonobu Itagaki and his ex-team have moved on - he has a new team, Team Ninja has new projects - and he only has the best wishes for Team Ninja and its new leader, Yosuke Hayashi. It's a refreshing change to see the man behind the sunglasses be so positive for a change and he even had enough compliments to go around. Good for you, Itagaki-san.

If you're reading this, I'm sure you would be expecting Nintendo news spanning across E3. But since we're doing a QuickPeek feature on E3, we're gonna stick with the news outside the Electronic Entertainment Expo for now. Besides, there's still some non-E3 info that you might wanna catch up on, especially this week's lineup of great homebrew, so you can get those on this week's recap.

Even without Tomonobu Itagaki and a few other core members, the members of Team Ninja are still known for their knack for emphasizing female assets. Proof? Check out Rachel in the E3 trailer for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Anyway, now that the Tecmo team is up for a Metroid project, it'd be interesting to know what plans they have for its darling heroine Samus Aran. Will we be seeing more of Samus? Or will they stick to what she's already got?

Longtime Metroid series director Yoshio Sakamoto has categorically denied that Metroid: Other M is the same game as Metroid Dread, a long-rumored side-scrolling game in the Metroid series.

Oohhh-kay. That went relatively well, wouldn't you say? Nintendo's E3 2009 presentation wasn't just all about smiles this time around. They did try to be harder-hitting, and we gotta give them props for that. Overall, it was... alright. About one or two items only that got us kinda raising our voices a decibel higher in excitement.

Reggie FIls-Aime turned quite a few heads when he announced a new Metroid game from Team Ninja earlier during the Nintendo E3 press conference. We still don't know a lot about the game, but we do have these three screenshots to share with you guys. Check 'em out below.

The time of controversy and lawsuits have passed. Team Ninja has moved on and so have Tomonobu Itagaki and his crew of ex-Team Ninja members. Teaming up with young but skilled engineers, the new team is now hard at work on a new game. Speaking with James Mielke of 1UP, Itagaki and his right-hand men spill a few droplets of detail (and scotch) to give us an idea of what they're up to.

"I love being a - I love being a - I love being a TURTLE!" The ninjas with the color coded masks are getting a new game slated for next year. The awesome news is that the game will be made of ex-Smash Bros., and Team Ninja devs. Excellent, excellent team up. I suddenly have a craving for pizza.

A settlement's finally been reached between the disgruntled Team Ninja members and Tecmo. The lawsuit filed last July was on the issue of unpaid overtime work under flexible working hours. Details after the jump.
