As the attorney general of South Australia, Michael Atkinson has been
one of the most rabid critics against the introduction of an R18+
classification in Australia. This has made him a frequent target for
Aussie gamers. GameSpot recently had a chance to ask Mr. Atkinson why he's so against the R18+ rating. Check out Mr. Atkinson's point of view after the jump. |

South Park has always had a lot of in tune with current events. As most
fans might remember, they did an episode of South Park featuring World
of Warcraft, and that show won an Emmy Award
for Outstanding Animated Program. For this week's upcoming episode, the kids from Colorado will be taking on the Legends of Rock. That's right. Gamer Node reports that South Park will be doing an episode focusing on Guitar Hero. It seems that this week's episode will focus on Stan and Kyle, as their friendship gets strained because of Guitar Hero, as Stan and Kyle are on opposite ends of the Guitar Hero playing spectrum. See Randy play Guitar Hero in his undies... after the jump! |

Some ingenious use of the Nintendo Wii's Mii creation (and deletion) functions in this video. While yours truly can't get over the fact how the eyebrows and the mouth were cunningly used to make the small space where Kenny of South Park fame peeks out from his sweater's hood, there's something intrinsically cruel about making such a cute little avatar and just deleting it while he's struggling.
Then again, it's still funny. And shouting the all-too-familiar catchphrase (and having your friends shout the surprised reply) would be priceless and worth the laughs. Enjoy the video - and I recommend you watch it to the very end. There's a bit that hopefully, the animated series' Kenny also went through, what with all those accidental deaths. |

The creators of South Park are at it again, and this time, the Wii takes the center stage. Seems like South Park is on a gaming frenzy, eh? I'm sure we guys we're totally amused when you saw the WoW South park episode. Now, Cartman's set his sights on Nintendo's brand-spanking console, and he sure can't wait to get his hands on it (so much that he's fast-forwarded to the future just to play it).
Now, I'm going to stop there before you throw rotten tomatoes at me. This one's your typical absurd yet highly amusing episode, so I suggest that you watch it if you're in need of a good laugh (or a "good Wii moment", depends on what you think, really). Enjoy! Credits go to JaapvsJaap for the vid! |

CNET's Rich DeMuro recently got hold of Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime in New York for a last minute discussion prior to the Wii launch. While the interview reveals nothing new and surprising, it somehow gives fans the assurance that they are picking the right console and they are definitely getting their money's worth.Fils-Aime cleared up that there is not going to be a "wonderful 11th hour" announcement for them. "In terms of what's going to be in the box, that's set," the executive answered. He then implied that they have been transparent ever since anyway. "All of the other news, if you will, all of that is being finalized as we speak," he concluded. DeMuro then asked Mr. Reggie on how he feels whenever the Wii is being put up side by side with the PS3 and the X360. He coolly responded, "What they're trying to do, center of the living room, entertainment hub, let them do it. For us, we revel in going on a different direction. So when people compare and contrast the three, no, that is not fair." In terms of specs and machine power, it is no secret that the Nintendo console is inferior compared to Sony's and Microsoft's. On the other hand, there is no denying the fact that Nintendo placed premium on innovation and as they say, revolution. The discussion then became lighter when the topic of South Park was brought up. "Obviously we love it. It's fantastic to be in popular culture and I'm telling you, its not going to be the last," Fils-Aime predicted. |

And so, after attesting their love (or obsession, whichever is applicable) for World of Warcraft, our South Park kids now profess their desire for none other than the Nintendo Wii. It was all over the net: it was on forums, message boards, blogs, Digg, and numerous posts which pretty much told the reader to get up and turn on the television in order to see Cartman bend the rules of time, physics and reality, in order to be there at the perfect moment at the hour of the launch of the greatest game console, EVAR (whew). Or so Cartman thinks. I suppose that such a time machine would have been nice since it would save a lot of us from having to stand in line in the freezing cold just to pre-order the console, but sadly, that's just impossible at the moment. Oh well. In the meantime, it has just become apparent that any episode which concerns South Park and something about gaming seems to be turning into a hit, as the episode in question is already up and ready on torrent sites, faster than Comedy Central can say "You b***ards!" So, have any of you seen this episode? Do tell us about it in the comments! UPDATE: When we told you that "Cartman wants a Wii", some of you said you just loved that particular "South Park" episode:
