Martinet Mario - Image 1Somebody's obviously excited! No less than Charles Martinet, the famed voice behind Mario the plumber, has taken to his Twitter to tweet about "a new Mario game". And no, he's apparently not referring to the New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Couple that with the rumor that a graphically-superior Nintendo DS is on its way, then perhaps Nintendo has been busying itself with preparing new hardware. For now, they're working on existing hardware, turning white controllers black, and enlisting balance boards in the fight against terrorism.

Wii HD - Image 1IndustryGamers recently caught up with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto in NYC, where the gaming exec shared his thoughts on high definition gaming. While he said nothing that would point us to a Wii HD, we now have more reason to believe that Nintendo isn't gonna sit on its motion-control laurels and leave the graphics as they are. Miyamoto himself has confirmed - "Nintendo's games move along in step with the progression of technology."

Mario will soon drive your own kart for you - Image 1When I hear the words "demo play", the first thing I think about are those old demos that used to kick in when you left a game in the "Press Start" screen for too long. Nintendo is taking the demo play idea to a whole new level, however. In an interview with USA Today, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that they're adding an optional feature -- called "demo play" -- that will make the Wii even more accessible by making games play themselves.
