Somebody's obviously excited! No less than Charles Martinet, the famed voice behind Mario the plumber, has taken to his Twitter to tweet about "a new Mario game". And no, he's apparently not referring to the New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Uh-oh. Square Enix is in trouble. No, they're not pulling out Final Fantasy XIII, though that alone would cause some major problems for them as well. Rather, they're being sued. Yes, Square Enix is being sued with a federal class action, claiming that Square Enix of America has "deceived 100,000 customers by not being upfront about fees and penalties."

Fresh from the press release mailbox is the success from the recently-concluded Game Developers Conference. The press release came with the heading, "2009 Game Developers Conference Once Again Serves As Focal Point For Worldwide Videogame Industry," plus a few stats on this year's events that made the whole thing, in their words, a "week of learning, networking, and inspiration."

We've got an exceptionally news-filled week for issue #65 of the QuickJump QuickPeek, thanks in part (a whole lot) to the recently-concluded GDC that happened in San Francisco. There were a lot of announcements and revelations, both inspiring and jaw-dropping alike. Yep, it's looking like it's gonna be yet another good year for gaming.

And Michael Pachter's at it once more. What's he got to say this time around? This is the last console generation. Oh, I thought there was gonna be another one, especially after the debut of CryEngine 3 and it being next-gen ready. But am no analyst, so I could be wrong.

Konami Digital Entertainment, or rather its division in America, rocked San Francisco with their blow-by-blow game lineup revelation kicking off from 2008 onwards. Of course, there were the all-time favorites: Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Dance Dance Revolution, and Silent Hill. However, these weren't all the games that the publisher highlighted at the event. Nintendo of America unveiled Mario Super Sluggers (formerly known Super Mario Stadium Baseball) for the Wii at the San Francisco media summit. Bill Trinen, the producer of the game, was on hand to showcase both pitching and batting in the game. Head on over to the full article for more on this/

Fresh from acquiring assets to dip themselves into the casual gaming market, "creative hub" publisher THQ will now set out to raise the curtains off their much broader lineup of games for fiscal year 2009. And aside from tending some exclusive titles for the Nintendo Wii, THQ has a couple of mainstream franchises piled up for a comeback.
