Sexy Poker - Image 1Recently, when we hear "banned in Australia" the first thing that comes to mind is violence. The second game to be refused qualification in the region this year, however (Necrovision was the first), wasn't banned because of blood and guts but because of some good old-fashioned nudity.

Wolverine - Image 1The bad boy of the X-Men once again shows us how bad (and a little crazy) he can get. Well if I heal quickly and have adamantium blades shooting up and down my knuckles, heck, I'd be as wild as he is. Anyway, here's yet another trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP), where our boy takes on fellow X-Man Gambit, and the immovable Blob.

Poker game - Image 1A poker tournament involving 120 players from all over the game industry squared off at the GDC and played for the benefit of the Starlight Starbright Children's foundation, raising $24,000 in the process.

Lee Jacobson of Midway Home Entertainment was the supreme winner and took home a huge 37" Philips flatscreen TV. "I'm thrilled I won," said Jacobson. "But most importantly, the winners are the kids and their families. We played for them. I can't wait to come back next year and defend my title."

Equally thrilled was ISM Senior Partner Stew Kosoy who said "We were delighted to see so many people turn up to compete for fun and for charity." He then thanked the event's sponsors for the attractive prizes.

PokerWhenever we talk Wii, we always end up talking about the Wiimote/Nunchuk arrangement that's been the bread and butter for this much-camped-out-for console, and while we've seen games like Zelda, Red Steeland Wii Sports lead the way on how the controls should be done, let's see if we can fit another sport - Poker.

Crave Entertainment's placed their bets on the Wii console, as they've just announced that there's a World Series of Poker game coming out for the Wii. Like a lot of games making the port, this version will make full use of the Wiimote/Nunchuk. Players can look around first-person using the controls, or if playing one-handed, point the controller up to raise and down to fold.

We don't have too many details yet on this latest development, but fans to the PSP and Xbox 360 version of this game may want to keep in touch, as new personalities in the poker world are expected to make it to the Wii version, the Wiimote/Nunchuk controls being just the tip of the iceberg. Keep your poker face on for any new developments they may deal.

That right there is one big-headed dog. Weird, but cute... in a weird way. And those puppy-dog eyes! Ok, we're no vets, but we think that this little doggy's suffering from droopy-eyed syndrome. Which reminds us - it kinda looks like that old cartoon dog Droopy, doesn't it? Well, except for the fact that it's brown.

Anyway, this screenshot is from The Dog Island, an upcoming Wii game about, presumably, dogs. Oh interesting fact: there really is a dog island. We forget where it is, but it's made up of smaller islands and each island is home to a different kind of dog. For example, there's a tiny dog island that's exclusive to chihuahuas and stuff. What do they do there? No idea. Drink martinis and play poker maybe, or try to find out which of them are left-handed and which are right-handed.
