A survey from the gifting service, Lottay, reveals that there is twice more demand for the Wii than both its rival consoles combined. Mature rating - Image 1Australians are tired of getting the short end of the gaming stick. The lack of an R18+ rating on the OFLC means that games with mature or adult content can easily be refused classification and subsequently banned. They're not taking that lying down. In fact, gamers Down Under are planning to march and hold a rally demanding the implementation of an R18+ rating.

Sexy Poker - Image 1Recently, when we hear "banned in Australia" the first thing that comes to mind is violence. The second game to be refused qualification in the region this year, however (Necrovision was the first), wasn't banned because of blood and guts but because of some good old-fashioned nudity.

Australia R18 - Image 1The Attorney Generals of Australia finally agreed to release a discussion paper on whether or not an R18+ rating will be added to the currently existing ratings board. The paper will be made available over the Internet and will ask opinions on a number of issues relating to the introduction of the R18+ classification for video games. Hope it works. Censorship - Image 1Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) has only recently been cleared for release in Australia after the whole drugs debacle, but it looks like Bethesda's Pete Hines is still a bit peeved. Megaman 9 rated by OFLC - Image 1Megaman's last showing as the original blue bomber was in Megaman Powered Up. There now appears to be a listing, however, on Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification board for one Megaman 9. Learn more about it after the jump!
