Shigeru Miyamoto himself has said it - they'll be moving along with the progress of technology and he wants to see games with better graphics. Couple that with the rumor that a graphically-superior Nintendo DS is on its way, then perhaps Nintendo has been busying itself with preparing new hardware. For now, they're working on existing hardware, turning white controllers black, and enlisting balance boards in the fight against terrorism.

Homebrew coder Warpfish has released a new update of Smashing!, a fully rendered 3D arcade shooting game for the Nintendo Wii. The latest update of the excellent homebrew game has added new areas, new games modes, online scoreboard, updated menu and more.

Nintendo has announced a date for the US release of their black Wiimote and Nunchuk combo. Prices too. Soon Wii owners in the US can at least add a splash of (non-)color to their Wiis without having to go the modding route.

There's still a lot of doubt about fitness games on the Wii actually making anyone fit, but Everlast seems to think that they could make sure that you do, at least a little bit. Homebrew coder Tantric together with michniewski has released another round of update for Snes9x GX, a Super Nintendo emulator for the Nintendo Wii based on the PC emulator SNES9x 1.51 and powered by libwiigui. The latest update is a bug fix release.

Nintendo's sent out the list of their holiday line-up, and it looks like their Christmas goodie bags are bursting at the seams with their holiday offerings - even without those Christmas lights turned on yet. Included in the list are much-awaited titles like Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and a new Castlevania title for WiiWare.

Just when you thought that having a nice pleasant round with the Wii is as safe as the console's wholesome packaging, Wiihaveaproblem.com reports that there's a growing number of injuries sustained while playing with Nintendo's motion controller. Color seems to be Nintendo's little attraction project as of late. Sponters has updated his Rubik's cube Wiibrew game, Goblin's Cube. The game is pretty much complete as it is now, so there's not much to do with it now, hence the short changelog. For those who haven't tried, Goblin's Cube controls the Rubik's Cube using the Nunchuk's and the Wiimote's accelerometers to shift the block. Changes after the jump.
