Downloaded the first build of Wii Tanks for the Nintendo Wii yet? Addicting as it is, Tanks version 0.1a was a very early prototype build. It had four-player deathmatches locked in, courtesy of homebrew developer Grillo, but as extended gameplay soon revealed, there were a some bugs that left a lot to be desired. Wii Tanks version 0.3a swats a lot of them down nicely. Oh and there's a little more.Download: Wii Tanks v0.3a |

Remember the old days of Missile Command? Back then, we had just a knob to tilt around so that the crosshairs lined up right. Constant speed of the targeting reticle had us thinking strategically and proactively instead of reactively. Now imagine replacing that control scheme with the Wii remote - just point and fire. Fantastic idea, isn't it? That's what you might say about homebrew developer ulti's Missile Command v0.4 once you give it a whirl - after the full story, of course.Download: Missile Command v0.4a (with source code) |

As homebrew developer Feesh promised at an early release of MAsteroids, he delivered on version 0.4: Nunchuk support. And we're not talking about a Wiimote and Nunchuk combo for controlling one player - we mean one player controls his ship on the Wii remote and the other controls his asteroids buster on the Nunchuk. Plus, he's added Classic Controller support. But he's not done with just those. Learn more about his plans for expanded controller support at the full story.Download: MAsteroids v0.4 |

If you're a programmer, you might take an interest in this new Java API, WiiuseJ. It's a simple and lightweight API that lets you write Java programs that can interface with the Wiimote as well as the Nunchuck. Since it's a Java library, it will let you write programs independent of the console itself. Neat, eh? More in the full article.Download: WiiuseJ v0.12 (Javadoc) Download: WiiuseJ v0.12 (for Windows and Linux) |

Say it ain't so? Anyone who would've asked for a space action game on the Nintendo Wii would love this homebrew game developed by homebrew coder Feesh: MAsteroids. Probably short for 'multiplayer Asteroids,' MAsteroids is an Asteroids romp for up to 4 players sporting different game modes and varying the experience depending on who you're entertaining for dinner - that being, rivals or comrades. More details at the full story.Download: MAsteroids |
