Space Channel 5 not coming to the Wii? - Image 1It looks like we'll have to wait a little bit longer for a shot at dancing with funky fresh diva Ulala. Sega has denied the recent N-Zone report of a Space Channel 5 remake for the Wii, which kind of leaves us feeling a bit down, seeing as Ulala was a perky character that got everyone (including Michael Jackson) dancing.

More on this after the jump!

Mario Strikers Charged: Invite a Friend option - Image 1After tossing the ball back and forth, so to speak, Nintendo confirmed that video game title Mario Strikers Charged will allow players to compete against anyone in the world, provided that you have the Friend Code of that person.

German gaming magazine N-Zone has detailed exactly how players can go about doing this. Here's how the title's online system works:
  1. In the online main menu, select the function "Invite a friend".
  2. Now you get a list of all your registered friends. Select the person you want to play against.
  3. Your friend's Wii now displays the following info box: "(Somebody) wants to play with you. Do you want to ..?"
    • Accept the match
    • Cancel the match
    • Accept the match with a friend ( A second player can play at your friend's console in his team)
    • Show the match settings (play length, game mode, stadium, cheats on/off)
  4. Wait until your friend has accepted the match.
  5. The connection quality is displayed and the match starts.
Well, no surprises there. In fact, it's pretty much basic and we see no reason why you wouldn't try Mario Strikers Charged's online function once the game comes out on May 25.

Mario Strikers Charged - Image 1

Go Nintendo reports that European gaming magazine N-Zone has put up a review of Nintendo's Mario Strikers Charged, and in the review, a little clarification regarding the game's multiplayer features was included. Here's the clarification, translated by Go Nintendo reader Sventiga:

We want to clear up a rumor that is spreading around the internet: It is NOT true that you can only play against European gamers. If you have the Friend Code of a friend registered who is living on another continent you can play against them. The only problem is that you may suffer some lag issues.

This is good news for all the people planning to get the game. And hopefully this will be the last LAST word on Mario Strikers Charged's multiplayer. Oh, and the review scores? The game got 79% for single player and an impressive 86% for multiplayer.

Wii Points Card - Image 1Something from the European rumor mill: Nintendo is going to set a conversion rate of 4:1 for Star points to Wii points according to German mag, N-Zone.

The said conversion of rate is still a rumor but it already spawned a debate whether it's fair or not. According to Mike Jackson of CVG, you'll have to register around 32 games to get 2000 Wii points. With that, players would spend around GDP £ 1280 (that's more than US$ 2,500) to get the 2000 "free" Wii points.

Some say that Nintendo is just taking advantage of the Wii and DS' success, while others argue that it's still free. Others complain that Japan gets the cool stuff and European Stars Points Catalogue is a far cry. Let's hope Nintendo has grander plans for us in the future.

German magazine N-Zone gives us a couple of impressive scans of Far Cry: Vengeance. We haven't really heard much from the game since the TGS season and Ubisoft has only released a few screenshots that didn't show too many details of the game. Despite that, a certain amount of anticipation has been going around those expecting for the Wii releases, so you bet we're going to get the updates from Ubisoft as they come.

Far Cry: Vengeance has a plot that sounds a lot like Samson meets Delilah, except that Jack Carver must face his nemesis, Kien Do. The game is the perfect way to showcase the Wii remote to drive, shoot, slash, jump, and climb your way through a rebel-infested tropical mayhem. You'll be unleashing the Wii's controls to throw grenades, swim, dive, jump, shoot, climb, balance yourself, and ride jet skis and hovercrafts, among other things.

Far Cry: Vengeance is expected this December.

Some people might actually consider this porn, but well, we'll leave that for you to decide. We'll also leave it for you to decide whether this pic is Photoshop'd or if it's the real deal. It was taken from the German magazine N-Zone. It shows the Wiimote opened up without the batteries placed in it.

Wii-gasm!

Well, for the more speculative folks out there, this picture (whether it's rwiieal or fake) doesn't really show much. It's the back of the Wiimote, with the battery latch open, showing green chips and stuff. Big whoop. But of course, this is quite exciting, even just for the fact that it's another picture of the Wiimote. How could we resist?! We're all intrigued by how the Wiimote actually works, and a picture like this is really such a tease...

Well, just think aloud and send in your comments. We know you have something to say. But whatever the case, let's just hope that, if this picture is any indication, the Wiimote is coming along quite nicely in production, despite rumors.
