Over at the other side of the Atlantic, some game industry observers have expressed concern that the launch of Nintendo's Wii Fit may offset the sales of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3). Analyst Jesse Divnich begs to differ, though. He says there may be a bit of a hit early, but things shouldn't be as rough as some may think. Details in the full article. |

According to simExchange analyst Jesse Divnich, some numbers taken from both the NPD Group and Mindshare didn't exactly jive with one another after comparing two of the supposedly top-selling games of 2007. The games in question were Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360 (also available on the PC and PS3). Okay, so this is definitely not new. Since it was introduced years ago, Spore (PC, Nintendo Wii, DS, Mac, and Mobile) has often been thought to be one of the games to bring new blood to the saturated PC gaming market by way of being the segment's best seller once it's released. But Electronic Arts just wants its investors to know that the company's feeling optimistic about the sim-strategy title, and Michael Pachter predicts more or less of the same. |

We've been taking days and weeks for granted (hence, the prevalence of procrastination among many people), but the projected January sales numbers may just show us how important a week is. According to some analysts, January 2008's sales numbers were cut off by approximately 18 percent since it is one week less compared to last year's January. Read more about it in the full article! |
