Famitsu.com has broken the news on a new entry in Taito's Estpolis series. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the series was released outside Japan as "Lufia". The new game will be called Estpolis: The Land Cursed by the Gods and will be produced by the original game's development staff. Square Enix will be handling publishing duties.

It's numbers time again! The latest hardware sales figures from Japan's Media Create has been release, and competition is getting tighter as the PS3 inches closer and closer to the top, needing only about a thousand more units before overtaking the long-reigning DSi.

The powers and resources of the NPD, Enterbrain, and GfK Chart-Track have all come together and the results are in - Dragon Quest IX dominated the global sales charts spanning over three months ending September of this year. Phoenix Wright, the "Objection!" shouting ace attorney and all around good guy, looks to be making the jump to Nintendo's money-making waggle-controlled console. Or so the German USK says.

Soon, there will be demos for games on WiiWare. This appears to be the plan of Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, as disclosed in a recent Q&A session.

While powering its way to the top of the charts, the PS3 continues to eye bigger mountains to scale and conquer. The recent Sony sales surge certainly rocketed the console up, but the next mountain is one that has stood firm for the last few years and will be tougher to climb than all the PS3's previous hurdles - this mountain is Mount Wii. Following the latest figures, it seems that the PS3 may have gotten slightly ahead of the Wii in terms of sales in Japan for the year.
