Intelligent Systems and Nintendo's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii looks like a very interesting game. This tactical role-playing game is the sequel to the Gamecube hit Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Picking up after the three years after the Daenin-Crimea war where King Ashnard was defeated, gamers must lead their troops through the game's 45 chapters. To help you through the different campaigns, this title introduces 27 new characters which effectively bumps up the playable units in the game to 72. If you look closely at the screenshots, you might see some of the new characters in action. If you plan on picking this game up, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn will be released in the U.S. this November 5. More screenshots at the full article! |

Two new titles are now up on Europe's retro video games list on Wii's Virtual Console. On the spotlight this week is Paper Mario and Air "Zonk". Okay, so Paper Mario isn't so retro, as it was released on the Nintendo 64 in 2001, but you've got to admit that it is a must have. If you aren't so familiar with the title, Paper Mario from Intelligent Systems featured 2D characters in a 3D setting. As usual, Bowser is up to his dastardly deeds again. He kidnaps the seven Star Spirits and Princess Peach, and steals the Star Rod. Of course, you know the drill: do everything possible to rescue the princess! The other title on Europe's VC list this week is Air "Zonk", originally on the Turbografx 16 back in 1992. It's side-scrolling shooter where players get to where the shoes of the hero, Zonk to stop the evil King Drool. Well, a whole lot of anthropomorphic bosses are standing in between you and your mission so you better not laugh at the face of a talking battleship or a bouncing trash bag. There are three difficulty levels in the game (sweet, spicy, and hot) so you can quite literally, choose your flavor. Air "Zonk" is available for 600 Wii Points while you can get Paper Mario for 1000 Wii Points. There haven't been any announcements as to when Paper Mario will fold its way to North American VC, but we'll keep you posted on that. |

Still coming from E3, here are the newest screenshots for the RPG title Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn as provided by Nintendo and developer Intelligent Systems. The images are looking really great. But despite that, there's still no word about a concrete release date and the game's rumored online capabilities. Fans are really excited about Goddess of Dawn as it is the first RPG strategy title for the Nintendo Wii. True-blue fans of the game have another reason to look forward to it because we will be seeing in this game the return of the cast of The Path of Radiance. Remaining true to previous iterations, players in this game can use various weapons as well as cast holy magic to enemies. Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn has already been released in Japan. See the other screenshots after the jump! |

Could it be true? Could Paper Mario be headed to the virtual console? Well, that's what one magazine seems to state, though we're not entirely sure. A new post on Go Nintendo has a scan from an unnamed magazine on it, with Paper Mario serving as the "Staff Pick" for the month. "In the hands of developer Intelligent Systems," the magazine writes, "the standard Bowser-kidnaps-Peach storyline came to life with engaging dialogue, surprising characters, and addictive gameplay." We're not sure if its confirmed or if its just a suggested title that one magazine wants to see on the virtual console. So far, the ESRB still says Paper Mario is for the Nintendo 64, so we're going to have to put this in the rumor bin for now. Still, you can certainly say we share their sentiments for the game though. While we dig up more information on the scan, let us know what you think. Do you think the announcement is real or suggested, and do you want to see Paper Mario hit Nintendo's virtual console channel anytime in the near future? |

Nintendo's Fire Emblem franchise could be heading into a whole new direction starting with the next game in the series. According to IGN, Nintendo and developer Intelligent Systems recently hinted to Dengeki Wii & DS Style that online components may appear in the next Fire Emblem game. Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamagami reportedly told the magazine that his team was "originally considering Wi-Fi compatibility" for the recent Wii title Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn. Development towards an online feature for map and unit downloads was undertaken, but balance and technology difficulties kept it out of Goddess of Dawn. "This would be the first FE for the Wii, so we decided to focus on single player and held back on Wi-Fi," said Yamagami. "However, for the next title, if we have the chance, we'd like to use it." With Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn just recently released in Japan, pretty much everything about the next game in the series is pure speculation, but the thought of having Wi-fi battles in a series that made a name for itself as one of the best single-player strategy games around sure sounds interesting. |

Are you hankering for more of Intelligent Systems' Fire Emblem the way we are? Well never fear, because Game Videos has even more video of the game for everyone to enjoy.
The video we've got below shows around seven minutes of footage. You'll get to see more RPG action here, enough to make you want even more virtual warring to occur on your Wii. You'll also get some commentary from the folks at Game Videos about the game, mentioning some of the features of the game, as well as the differences (or apparent lack thereof) of this game from its Gamecube iteration. In any case, who are we stop the gaming masses from enjoying their Wii-enabled Fire Emblem treat. Enjoy the video guys. |

Nintendo-centric gaming blog Go Nintendo reports that the official Japanese website for Super Paper Mario has gone live. You can check it out by clicking on the "read" link below. The website's in Japanese, but you can check out some screenshots and character profiles over there. There are also three new gameplay videos on the site. You can check these out by clicking on the fourth tab at the bottom of the website and then clicking on the yellow button below each video. Super Paper Mario for the Nintendo Wii videogame console fuses 2D and 3D perspectives in one game. Throw in some RPG and classic platformer elements in to the mix and you've got one hell of a multi-dimensional adventure. Gamers will get to navigate through eight worlds filled with traps, puzzles, bizarre mysteries and items that often draw themselves out of thin air. Mario's not the only star on the game, too -- players will also be able to play as Princess Peach and Bowser. The Intelligent Systems-developed Super Paper Mario is slated for an April 9 release in the U.S. |

War is caused by a failure to communicate. When the lines of diplomacy and tact fail, only the sword remains.
In this new video Siliconera found for Intelligent Systems' Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn, we've got the protagonists going head-to-head against a bunch of guards in their very first battle. You'll get to see them swing their weapons, cast holy magic, and fire arrows at the enemy. The vid's a bit long at eight minutes, but there's some exposition at the end, which is admittedly Japanese. Still, it's worth a look, right? Enjoy the video, alright? |

You had been warned... Still there? Thought so.
We found some videos of Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn floating on YouTube from axs113. They are cutscenes from the game, which explains the spoiler warning. Ike, the main character of the Path of Radiance, also makes an appearance wielding the legendary Ragnell. An awesome cutscene featuring ike and the rest of the crew in action, saving Lucia from the gallows. Plus another look at the war scene with the human leader going up against one of the Laguz. Intelligent System's Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn has been released in Japan for a while and we're still waiting for announcements. Anyway, we'll keep on the look out while you enjoy the videos! Oh, and we'd appreciate if somebody could translate the dialogue for us as this writer's Nihonggo has gone rusty.
