Kid Icarus - Image 1He did not say "No." Let's be clear on that one. In an interview with Nintendo Power, Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo was asked whether or not a new Kid Icarus game will be coming to the Wii or the DS. His answer: after the jump.

MCA skates on the moon in Activision's Tony Hawk's Proving Ground - Image 1

Who'd have thunk it? Adam Yauch a.k.a. MCA of the Beastie Boys will be showing off his mad skateboarding skills (at least virtually) in Activision's upcoming skater game, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. He'll be one of the new faces that will grace the famous, if improbable, line up of bonus skaters for the game.

Included in this update is the complete soundtrack listing for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, totalling a hefty 54 licensed songs all in all. Included in this list will be famous bands that play to the tune which has marked this high-velocity series, such as the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Slick Rick, and Jurassic 5.

Activision also announced an added bonus for those getting the Xbox 360 version of the game. The game will include a five song demo of "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." While the demo will be available soon on the Xbox Live, this is definitely a freebie that will be hard to pass up on.

Developed by Neversoft, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is scheduled for release during the last quarter of this year. It will be coming out for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Nintendo DS and Wii.

Check out the complete list of songs and their respective artists right after the jump!

Pit's Final Smash - Image 1Pit's Final Smash - Image 2

Attention, Brawl fans! Two updates headed your way and they're both about one of the newcomers into the Super Smash Brothers roster, Pit from Kid Icarus. We get you the latest on what's new with the cross-series beat-em-up that's got every Wii owner standing up and paying attention.

In this update, we get wind of Pit's Final Smash, aptly named Palutena's Army. What happens is that the moment Pit grabs hold of the very rare and very powerful Smash Ball, he'll call upon the Goddess Palutena's help. She makes a very prominent appearance behind the stage - note the goddess-y glow and aura - before the hammer is brought down upon your enemies, via a contingent of centurions divebombing everything in sight.

After that, we're treated to a musical treat, with Pit's theme titled "Kid Icarus: The Underworld". Clocking in at one minute and six seconds, this short but sweet piece is an arrangement of both the Grim Reaper theme and the Game Over theme. While the choice of what to mix seems a bit strange, it actually works, and it sounds decidedly epic. One should hear it to get the full effect, and you can do so by clicking on the read link below.

Certainly great that the minds behind what could be the most highly-anticipated title from Nintendo are taking their time to make sure that the characters not only get relevant Final Smashes, but also great music. Updates as we get them, so keep it locked right here for more news about Super Smash Brothers Brawl!

Skyworld - Image 1 Skyworld - Image 2 Skyworld - Image 3

For today's Super Smash Bros. Brawl content update, we've been given a treat. Nintendo's allowing us to go high up into the clouds to fight on an aerial terrace in the land known as Skyworld.

For those who don't know what Skyworld is, it's one of the three realms for the Kid Icarus series of games. Skyworld is the realm of Palutena, the game series' goddess of light, who is usually captured and in need of rescue whenever a game of Kid Icarus begins.

In any case, Pit's homeworld stage is a tricky one. Due to some shoddy construction practices, the Skyworld level is easy to break, meaning strong attacks can easily punch a hole in certain floors. This can be very deadly for everyone involved, as an ill-timed power attack can send people plummeting to their doom. Luckily, the floors regenerate over time, so players will have to be good at maneuvering to make the most out of the stage.

Watch out for the next Super Smash Bros. Brawl update when it comes out tomorrow. Till then, enjoy the screenshots above.

Pit joins Mario and Link in the Character Profiles section of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl official site. For those of you not familiar with him, Pit is the lead character in the NES title, Kid Icarus.

Pit started out his "career", so to speak, as a trapped angel in the underworld. He is known to be Palutena's most loyal servant and leader of her team of royal bodyguards. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he is armed with a bow and arrows of light. The latter may be morphed into two short blades for close-range combat. Apart from that, Pit is also able to perform multiple jumps in the air by flapping his wings. Players may also control the trajectory of Pit's arrows.

Bringing the Classics - Image 1 Bringing the Classics - Image 2

Wii's Virtual Console (VC) and 360's Live Arcade are a major chunk of what nostalgic gamers like about next gen. It's having to play ports of classic games delivered straight to your console. The thing is, some of the classics were not really as faithful to the originals as most gamers had hoped.

Ben Kuchera from Ars Technica spotted some nots on some classics. For the Wii's VC, Mario Kart 64 lacks the emulation of the memory pack slot that enables best times to be recorded. Kid Icarus' sound and graphics are great but lacks the original cheat codes from our youth (PAKING PAKING PAKING PAKING). Starfox 64 came with a rumble pack, unfortunately, Nintendo has announced that rumble in VC titles won't be supported.

From the Xbox Live Arcade, some people noted that Frogger seemed to be off. The increased difficulty and updated graphics just don't feel the same. Contra fans remember the classic cheat code to get 30 lives. The problem is, the download isn't the NES version - it's the arcade version.

Kuchera also notes that the D-Pad is a bit inappropriate for some games, unlike the multiple controllers supported by the Wii. Anyway, some would have different reactions to this but the point is - it was a good idea to have classic games make a comeback on next gen consoles. Notice anything off in your classic downloads? Some would just like to be reminded of their childhood.
