If you own a Nintendo Wii, you love fighting games and you like the old-school arcade fighting controls, then this accessory is for you. We reported about the Wii Fighting Stick from Asian manufacturer Hori several weeks back and told you that it's due out for Japan. Now Hong Kong is getting the product and so can you if you visit Play-Asia. The Hori Fighting stick should be just dandy if you can't master Wiimote controls for fighting games like Soul Calibur Legends, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It goes out for the price of US$ 52.90. Image taken from Play-Asia. |

About a month ago, manufacturer Hori gave out a news bit announcing that they were planning to release an arcade-style controller for the Wii console very soon. We're letting the readers know that the company's made good on their promise. The Wii Fighting Stick has just appeared on the Hori official site with a set date of August 30, 2007, and is priced at ¥ 5280 (US$ 45.50). That's a little less than the 50 bucks that will cost players when the Fighting Stick gets its North American release this November 6. Other controller features we spied when we checked out Hori's site include auto-fire features for each of the buttons. The Wii fighting stick is activated by plugging it into the Wiimote, much like you would with the classic controller set. Just the thing for every Wii owner's growing compendium of Virtual Console titles. |

Nostalgic for the good old days when you had a joystick instead of a joypad for your console? Well someone out there loves 'ya 'cause the Hori stick gives you just that for your Wii.The Japanese accessory maker will be releasing the Hori arcade stick in the U.S. this November 6 with a price tag of US$ 50. Aside from the joystick giving you that good old Atari feeling, it has eight other buttons for that familiar arcade feeling. The American design seems to carry no difference with the original Japanese design. The stick was originally conceptualized when Hori realized that some people would prefer an Arcade style controller over flapping your arms around when they play fighting games. While it does defeat the innovative style that made the Wii popular, it's still good to be able to enjoy yourself in a style that you're familiar with. |

Hori recognizes that some people may prefer the more traditional arcade-ish control setup with buttons and a stick over motion-sensing and hand-waving when playing fighting games so they came up with this design for the Japanese Wii. The Wii fighting stick will ship in August and will cost about US$ 52.90. The image you see carries the Japanese design, so don't be surprised if you see a slightly different look on it when it hits American shores. |
