Megaman 2 - Image 1We all know who Megaman is. Right up there with Mario and Sonic, Megaman represents fine platforming action that's geared towards jumping, shooting and avoiding painful spiky death. And while this generation's Mega-men are looking to be less and less reminiscent of the original platformer, it's definitely good to look back once in a while. Thank goodness the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console channel gives us a chance to do just that. Check out the entire scoop at the full article.

Enjoyed Wii Sports? Well, here are some gameplay vids that might pull you into the world of Wii Play. Yeah, it's been out for a couple of days already but these clips may help you decide whether to get it or not.

Here's a taste of action from Laser Hockey (more like air hockey), Table Tennis, Find Mii (spot the differences and similarities), Pose Mii (bubble matching), and Shooting. This just might be the next most addicting party game in the history of the Wii and more fun with the Wiimote.

Wii Play - Image 1Wii Play finally arrived in North America days ago, and Nintendo is hoping that it's going to be big, if not bigger than Wii Sports. After all, the two titles are somewhat alike - a compilation of games that demonstrate the capabilities of the Wiimote.

Nintendo of America's Senior VP of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison is quite hopeful:

Wii Play builds on the types of games and experiences people have come to love in Wii Sports. Millions of people around the world are recognizing Wii as the future of gaming. We are changing how people play games, who plays and how many play.

And with its pricing, it seems that Wii Play is really being pushed by Nintendo. The game comes packaged with a Wiimote for a suggested retail price of US$ 49.99. A typical Wii title retails around US$ 50 and the controller is priced at US$ 39.99.

Lastly, in case you've been living in a windowless room with a smelly, oily creature for the past months, here are the different mini games included in Wii Play:

Time to download some good old action.Time to grab your Wii and go online for some more nostalgic action. Nintendo's official Wii site has the goods on the latest offerings for their Virtual Console, all of which are scheduled to come out before the end of the year.

They're going way, waay back through the annals of videogaming history for some of the memorable titles we've all played through, as well as some things we didn't expect to ever see again.

*coughRobotnikcough*

We'll be listing them by console below, with the price for each game beside the console type. Note, however, that you might not be able to play all of these games using a Wiimote or the GameCube controller, so you might want to think about breaking that piggy bank you have to get a classic controller as well. Enjoy your downloads and keep checking QJ for which games get released when!

Nintendo Entertainment System
(500 Wii Points)
TurboGrafx-16 (600 Wii Points)
  • Dungeon Explorer
  • Super Star Soldier
  • Victory Run
Sega Genesis (800 Wii Points)
  • Columns
  • Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Golden Axe

Shoot it!Before Cabela even heard of video games, there was this lovely little game on the NES called Duck Hunt. In it, you could relive the glory days of a hunter and his dog, before bullets became expensive. Good thing we get another shot at it, as Americans will be able to relive the good old days of shooting things and making "pew-pew-pew" sounds while doing so, among other activities.

Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's president, finally confirmed the release of Wii Play for American audiences. Unlike Wii Sports, its brother title, Wii Play is comprised of nine casual games that aren't related  to videogame versions of action-packed real-life sports (unless you count table tennis). For instance, you can play billiards in this game, as well as fish, try virtual air hockey, and make Mii avatars pose for you. Of course, Wii Play also has the spiritual descendant of the above-mentioned NES shooter in the form of Shooting Range.

All of these games will use the Wiimote in one way or another, so expect more minigame fun to hit your televisions soon. Now, if only they'd come out with a release date and a price for the game, then this day would be complete.
