Let me start by clarifying that this is in no way a Nintendo marketing attempt for the New Super Mario Bros. Wii coming out on November 15th (WTF if this is). This happened for real. Two guys dressed up as Mario and Luigi (presumably for Halloween), plus one other suspect, are now wanted by the police for assault and robbery on a poor cabbie.

When was the last time you felt scared? Not just my-girl's-gonna-let-me-have-it scared, I'm talking soil-yourself-shamelessly scared. True enough, there might not be a video game out there that'll make you literally crap your pants, and it's far too impractical (and stupid) to find Leatherface to force your dinner down the backdoor. That said, let's just take a look at the things that come close.

Nothing like a cute kid in a Mega Man costume to make your day. I wanted to be Mega Man when I was little too. Lucky for him, his dad's a gamer. Not only does he come with a left-handed buster, he also dons the oversized Mega Man boots to complete the look. Awww.

With XSEED set to unleash Ju-on: The Grudge in North America, Rising Star Games will be taking care of the game's European launch. Horror fans in the territory can expect this game sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009. Screenshots and a few details are in the full article.

Rockstar finally gets to release Manhunt 2 in the UK after a long and grueling year-long battle against the BBFC. UK gamers can expect the game to hit shelves on October 31.

Third time's the charm for Microsoft. The latest numbers from Japan show that the Xbox 360 has once again outsold the PlayStation 3 for the third week running. And crunching some numbers reveal that the Xbox 360 outsold the PlayStation 3 for the entire month of September.

It's a little too early for Christmas miracles, so I'd say this is... a Halloween miracle?

It's been a few days since Halloween, so we'd rather honor the most memorable deaths that made gamers shriek, throw tantrums, and cry. Of course, along the line are deaths so dramantic, shocking, or simply sad that they're difficult to forget. In other words, a list of characters who died in ways that scarred our minds, or those we felt so attached to that seeing them perish became emotional. If it's not obvious enough, we'll have to warn you about major spoilers that await.

It's finally that time of year when CosPlay fanatics can run wild in the streets without fear of getting hounded by the cops. Do we have some people coming in as Kratos this year? Maybe wanna dress up as a character from a new IP, like say, Altair from Assassin's Creed - he seems to be pretty popular among the ladies. Be that as it may, it's time to don the QuickJump QuickPeek suit - hold the eye of newt, please! The 18th edition rolls out today!)

Clear the decks for this one, folks! Following last week's #17, QuickJump QuickPeek 18 has parked its merry bottom on the QJ blogs! Halloween is just around the corner and this edition of our weekly recap has nothing less than the most wicked news and updates. Of course, "wicked" here may connote either of two things: 1) wicked in the sense of being vilely putrid in nature, or 2) wicked in the sense of being made out of pure win, awesome, or [insert your own expletive of jubilation].

This week, we've got a heavy dosage of updates that'll make pumpkin heads roll. For one, Clive Barker's Jericho is already on shelves this week for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 - that right there is probably enough to give you some goosebumps for the next couple of weeks. Rawr. Here's three new trailers for The Simpsons Game in anticipation for its release on October 30. The trailers (for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii) feature Bartman battling it out with Lard Lad, a huge mascot wielding a donut. You might remember the donut titan in one of the series' Halloween specials.

The first trailer shows the fight scene against Lard Lad, where Bartman has to kick his butt... and pull out a few wires while he's at it. The second video shows a clip scene of the after-battle 2D animated sequence, and the third trailer shows a montage of clips from the game (including Lard Lad).

The Simpsons Game will be out for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, PSP and DS by the end of the month. Check out the rest of the trailers after the jump.
