VC line-up - Image 1

Aussie and European players would be happy to know that there are three new additions to their Virtual Console choices. R-Type III: The Third Lightning, Excitebike and Kirby's Adventure joins their VC line-up.

R-Type III: The Third Lightning from Irem first came out in 1993 and was originally for the SNES. It's a side-scrolling space shooter and as the name suggests, the third installment of the R-Type franchise. The Third Lightning introduced a third force plus new weapons. It is now available for 800 Wii points.

Excitebike is a motorbike racing game by Nintendo which first appeared in 1984 for the NES. It is the inspiration for Excite Truck and one of the first to feature a track build. Excitebike is now available for 500 Wii points. HAL Laboratory's Kirby's Adventure made a debut on the NES in 1994. Join Kirby in his adventure to save Dream Land and defeat the Nightmare. It is now available for 600 Wii points.

Europe gets an extra title in the form of New Adventure Island. It was originally released for the Turbografx and can be downloaded for 800 Wii Points.

Talk about the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny (sans Chuck Norris...)! Pikachu Vs. Kirby! Wario Vs. Link! Mario Vs. Metaknight! Samus Vs. Snake!

Yup, you heard us right. We have the latest batch of screenshots as well as a trailer from Nintendo World 2006 (Japan) showcasing Metroid Prime's powerhouse femme - Samus - and a Kojima's alter ego, Snake. Watch them join the fray that is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Snake. Snake? SNAAAAAAAAKE!

Samus will still be wielding her swiss-knife-gun, while Snake will be equipped with explosives and his trademark stealth moves. Other characters who would be joining the fight would be Pit and Fox, and there will also be various stages for players to slug it out in.

Over at the official site for this game, Masahiro Sakurai leaves us with this short message:

This is Masahiro Sakurai of Sora, director of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Hello.

So, the Wii has launched. Are you enjoying it? As I sit here writing this, it has not yet released where I am, but I am enjoying it nonetheless! ...But not as a consumer. No, I am working with it as I continue with the development of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All of us on staff are working very hard, but it will be a little while longer before you can play it!

So, let's hope they get the game out sooner than we hope since we can't wait to start brawling.

Famitsu scans - Image 1Famitsu scans - Image 2

Nintendo has just leaked new images from one of their highly-anticipated Wii titles, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Yeah, yeah, we know it's been quite a while since we last brought you game goodies, so hopefully these new images and scans will make up for the delay.

So anyway, as you guys probably know already, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will give you control over our well-known and loved characters from the entire Nintendo Universe (yep, including Fox Mc Cloud, Metaknight, Zero Follow Samus, Wario, and tons more). So really, it kinda makes you think "why get separate games to enjoy your favorite characters when you can have 'em all in one game?" Riiiight. Like any of that's gonna stop us from getting Zelda The Twilight Princess, right?

And since we don't know yet when Super Smash Bros. Brawl will land on U.S. shores, we'll give you guys a little something to help ease the pain of waiting. Think of it as a fix for the withdrawal symptoms you've been experiencing lately. Hahaha. Onto the screens!
