Predict! - Image 1A lot of people think that the year 2012 is significant. Some think the world's going to end by then. People in the games industry, on the other hand, think that it will be a beginning instead of an end: the beginning of the next console cycle. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli is one of those who believe that 2012 is when the next generation of game consoles will start showing up. *UPDATE* Two demo videos have surfaced from GamesCom 2009.

Thanks, Peter Bauer!

Sadness - Image 1Call me deluded but I'm pretty optimistic when it comes to "vaporware" software. The quotes are there since sometimes these things do become solid. It paid off with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, so yeah, I'm still hopeful that Nibris' Sadness would turn out the same.

Nintendo Weekend Warrior - Image 1It's that time of the week again, so here's your week's recap of all things Nintendo. This batch is a little heavy on the Wiixclusives, starting with Final Fantasy IV: The After Years stirring up quite a buzz with its multiplayer support and rumored June 1 release. There's also a lot of buzz surrounding the latest Time 100 list, which apparently got hacked to spell out a message. Now we're not quite sure if the rest of that list actually means something, or if we just have a list full of random names. Anyway, we've got updated emulators in the bunch too, so be sure to check out this week's Nintendo Weekend Warrior.

Rumor - Image 1Here's a wild one - rumor has it that Final Fantasy IV: The After Years won't even wait and make a few teases at the upcoming GDC, very unusual for a Square Enix title, a Final Fantasy one at that. According to this rumor, the game might come out as early as June 1st, hit the link for more details.

LEGO Rock Band - Image 1Is there a LEGO Rock Band in the works? If we're going to base our answer on the recently-concluded GDC presentation of Harmonix senior designer Dan Teasdale, the answer would be no. However, if we are going to base it on his should-have-been presentation, that's quite a different matter altogether.

GDC: Indiana Jones: Staff of Kings Trailer - Image 1We finally see some gameplay for the upcoming Indiana Jones game, Staff of Kings, courtesy of the ongoing GDC event. The game's looking mighty fine, though it looks like one of the more physically exhausting games for the Wii.
