Atari - Image 1While we're all gearing up for some intense Saiyan-brawling action with the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Nintendo Wii, it seems that Atari is doing the same. Except this time the publisher is preparing itself for a conflict that could decide if it keeps the rights to one of its most profitable franchises in history.

So, what's the deal? It seems that things, while already rough for Atari, are about to get rougher. After having five members of its board of directors being dismissed by Infogrames, U.S. anime firm FUNimation Entertainment is accusing Atari of breaching the agreements set between the two companies.

Because of this, FUNimation has declared that Atari will no longer be able to make Dragon Ball Z games, citing that the publisher's license to do so has been terminated. Of course, Atari isn't going down without a fight. As of this writing, the publisher still plans on distributing its DBZ games, and is now in talks with FUNimation to try and resolve their differences.

Here's hoping that everything works out in the end - after all, the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series has always been something to look forward to.

DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Godzilla: Unleashed come to San Diego Comic Con - Image 1Video games Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Godzilla: Unleashed are probably two of the more anticipated titles for the Nintendo Wii. Both will be published by Atari and both will be available this coming Christmas season.

Here's a heads up for those who have been religiously following the development of these two titles: Atari announced today that playable demos of DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Godzilla: Unleashed will be available during the San Diego Comic Con.

The said event will take place from July 26 to 29 at the Convention Center on Harbor Drive. Anyway, the brand new playable demo of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 can be found at the FUNimation Entertainment booth, #4129. On the other hand, the hands-on demo of Godzilla: Unleashed will be available at the Foundation 9 booth, # 4630.

We're really excited to get our hands on these especially with the innovations mentioned so far by the developers. It was earlier revealed that DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will finally go online while Godzilla: Unleashed will have a good and engaging Story Mode that the franchise has been lacking all these years.
